I joined Hive just 7 days ago, and honestly,i didn’t know what to expect. I’ve heard people talk about Hive being different from other platform but I didn’t really understand what that meant until I started posting and exploring on my own self.
My first day felt a bit confusing. There were so many communities, rules, tags, and people already doing amazing stuff. I kept asking myself, “Where do I even start?” But instead of giving up, I just decided to start small introduce myself, read a few posts, and leave some comments. And that’s where I began to see something different.
What surprised me was how genuine people are here. When someone comments, it’s not just emoji or one word reply. It feels real. People actually read your post, and reply with thoughts that show they care and love. It gave me a kind of motivation I didn’t expect from an online platform.
I’ve also learned that Hive is not just for writing it’s a space for thinking. You can’t just drop random things and expect magic. You have to share something of value, something that comes from you. That’s something I respect. It makes me want to take my time and put real thought into my posts even to write this topic.
One thing I did struggle with at first was understanding curation, rewards, and how things work behind the scenes. It’s not like Instagram or Facebook where you just post and scroll. Hive is more like a little world of its own. But I’m slowly learning mostly by reading, watching others, and asking questions when I need to. And people always show up for questions.
Another thing I noticed is how easy it is to doubt yourself in the beginning. I had moments where I thought, “Maybe I’m not good enough to post here.” But then someone left a kind comment on one of my posts, and it reminded me why I joined Hive in the first place to grow, share, and connect. Don't give up.
I’m also grateful to have found Proof of Brain. The name alone speaks to me. I like that this community is about ideas, thoughts, and reflections. It gives people like me a place to write without needing to be perfect. Just honest.
So yeah, it’s only been a week, but I’ve already learned a lot not just about Hive, but about myself. I’ve learned that I enjoy writing more than I thought. I’ve learned that I want to keep learning digital skills, and that I want to be part of a space that values thinking.
It’s not easy, and I’m not perfect at it. But I’m here, I’m trying, and I’m happy I joined.
