Hello Hives,
One thing I am slowly learning as I grow older is that I don't always have to explain myself.
There was a time when I felt like I had to make people understand my side of everything. If someone misunderstood something I did, I wanted to explain it. If someone judged me wrongly, I wanted to correct them. If someone thought I had bad intentions, I would spend time trying to prove that they were wrong.

Looking back now, I realize how tiring that can be.
Sometimes, you can explain yourself from morning till night and the person still won't understand you. Not because your explanation is bad, but because they have already made up their mind about you.
And that is a difficult thing to accept.
We often think that every misunderstanding can be solved if we just find the right words. But life doesn't always work that way. Some people don't really want to understand or listen to your side. Because they have already created their own version of the story, and anything you say will only be used to support what they already believe.
I have learned that I don't need to fight every misunderstanding.
If I know my intentions are good and I know the truth about what happened, sometimes that should be enough for me. Of course, there are situations where you need to speak up, especially when something important is at stake. But there are also moments when silence is the wiser choice for me.
I don't want to spend my days trying to convince everyone that I am a good person.
People who genuinely care about me will ask questions. They will listen. They will give me the chance to explain myself without already deciding that I am wrong.
And for those who have already decided to see me differently, I have learned to let them because I can't control their feelings after all.
It doesn't mean I don't care. It simply means I care about my peace too.
There is something freeing about realizing that you cannot control how everyone sees you. You can only control how you live, how you treat people, and the kind of person you choose to become.
So these days, I try to explain myself when an explanation is genuinely needed or necessary. But I step back when I notice that someone is only looking for reasons to misunderstand me.
I would rather use that energy to work on myself, take care of the people I love, and keep moving forward.
Not everyone needs to understand you. And sometimes, the best explanation you can give is simply the way you live your life.
