University of the Philippines

The University of the Philippines (UP) located in Diliman, Quezon City is one the country's top universities. It's big and like a town within the city. The student population is estimated to be around twenty six thousand while the faculty is around one thousand six hundred. It was founded in the 1900's and counted many prominent Filipinos among its alumni.

UP is a popular spot for health enthusiasts because of its large area for jogging or biking. There are soccer fields inside the university and huge parks where families go on a picnic and play in the grass. The most popular landmark is the Oblation statue, a nude statue with its arms spread wide. The Oblation Run is an annual event organized by the Alpha Phi Omega (APO) fraternity at UP Diliman. It started in 1977 and features fraternity members running butt naked through the campus to protest social and political issues, drawing inspiration from the university's iconic Oblation statue.
