Hello everyone, I hope everything is going well in your life and you are having a wonderful day. There is great excitement in the Splinterlands game and the new card edition, Conclave Arcana is eagerly awaited to be included in the game. Conclave Arcana pre-sale started about 28 days ago and there is only 1 day and 21 hours left until the pre-sale ends, we need to hurry up to not miss the pre-sale rewards. The pre-sale will end on May 11th and all Conclave Arcana packs will be available to open on May 13th, which means new cards will be included in the game. Conclave Arcanas and new abilities will add excitement to the game and I am eagerly awaiting them. By the way, the general sale of the remaining Conclave Arcana packs will begin on May 13, but there will be no pre-sale rewards, but I still have 1 day and 21 hours to have the chance to win these great rewards. Click here for more information and to purchase Conclave Arcana packs.
Previews of the Conclave Arcana cards have been released, and they look very powerful indeed, and I can't wait to try them out in battle. I experienced similar excitement when the Rebellion cards were added to the game, but I would like to say that I am even more excited now. And in this post I will talk about the Rebellion reward card, Commander Slade. I hope it will be useful for you.
Commander Slade
Commander Slade is one of my favorite Rebellion cards and I can say that he is my favorite especially against physical attacks, he can do amazing things in battles. Commander Slade is a Rare Water Unit card that has the Enfeeble Ability and Dodge Ability at level 1, the Deflect Ability at level 5 and the Backfire Ability at level 8. And it costs 10 mana.
LORE
Once an influential overlord in the Belurocian Empire’s military, Slade was quick to forsake his oath and swear a new one to Silus of the Rift and the Chaos Empire. With his military acumen and knowledge of Belurocian strategy, he proved decidedly effective at crushing his former compatriots. His brutality and mercilessness were rewarded with a promotion to commander and an assignment as the puppet-chancellor of the Republic of Fireboro, where his battalion of legionnaires enforces his decrees without compromise or compunction.
It is said that Commander Slade can use water magic to corrupt one’s soul, twisting even the most noble to serve his nefarious will.
Commander Slade has really powerful abilities and can be very effective against physical attacks, especially against melee attack units, and I would like to say that it can be much more effective when used with a good strategy. Let's examine how useful Commander Slade can be in the battle below.
According to the ruleset of the battle, all Units will have the Sneak Ability and Rebirth Ability, and only Rare and Common units can be summoned. In this battle, Melee Attack Units will be able to attack no matter what position they are in, so I added Units with melee attacks to my team, I knew that my opponent would also prefer Units with melee attacks, I can say that I determined my strategy accordingly.
I knew that Commander Slade would be very useful in this battle so I added him to my team without hesitation and put him in the target of enemies with melee attacks. To make him more useful I put Martyr abilty in the last position so when Venari Marksrat with Martyr ability dies, Commander Slade will get +1 to all his stats and this will trigger twice in this battle, in other words if my strategy works as I want Commander Slade will get +1 to all his stats twice. I believed this strategy would work when the opposing player favors melee attacking units, in fact it is one of my favorite strategies in this type of battle.
When I saw the opposing team, and the opposing player also put Commander Slade in the last position, it didn't surprise me at all because as I said abov, Commander Slade can be very effective against melee attack units. The opposing player's strategy was also very good, but the Martyr abilirty ruined the opposing player's plans. Commander Slade got +1 to all of his stats twice, making him much more effective and making it harder for enemies to hit him.
Commander Slade from the opposing team suffered his first defeat in the 2nd round, but he resurrected himself with 1 health, but he did not survive long and was defeated a second time in the 3rd round. The enemies were able to defeat Commander Slade on my team in the 4th round, but were unable to defeat him a second time.
The battle lasted 11 rounds and all units on the opposing team were destroyed twice and my team managed to win the battle. At the end of the battle, 5 Units from my team managed to survive, only Venari Marksrat from my team was destroyed twice, which was already part of my strategy. My strategy worked very well in this battle, even though the opposing team was stronger, my team won the battle quite easily. My Commander Slade card is at level 4, I really want to upgrade it to the max level. For example, if he had the Backfire Ability in this battle, defeating the opposing team would become incredibly easy because when an enemy Unit misses a Unit with the Backfire Ability, they will take 2 physical damage, which is exactly why I really want to level it up to level 8. Commander Slade gains the Backfire ability at level 8.
This battle was a good example of how effective Commander Slade can be in certain battles. However, we should not forget that no matter how powerful the cards are, it is up to us to make them more useful in battles with our strategy. I recommend you to watch the battle, if you want to watch it here is the battle link.
