As per the latest announcement from the Official Moonkarts discord, Arcade Colony, the team behind Moonkarts, has just rolled out some major updates regarding their COLONY token airdrop, and if you are staking particularly 2 other in-game reward tokens - SPS or GLX and been receiving the Colony drop on Moonkarts game, then this piece of news could be really good news for you. Moonkarts COLONY Airdrop

COLONY is the in-game reward token of Moonkarts and it is also the governance token for the Arcade Colony ecosystem, of which Moonkarts is a big part. During the launch of Moonkarts game a year ago, they started distributing a massive airdrop through a campaign to reward gaming-focused community members, who are already involved in other popular Hive-based games - Splinterlands and Genesis League Goals. Now, for those of you, who are staking SPS (from Splinterlands) tokens or GLX (from Genesis League Sports or Genesis League Goals) tokens, you are automatically eligible to get a share of 805,719,893.207 COLONY tokens over the next 5 years period and been getting Colony tokens in your Moonkarts account wallet on a daily basis.

The Airdrop Numbers

Now, here is how the overall Colony token airdrop is being broken down

• Total number of COLONY tokens allocated for the Airdrop - 805,719,893.207 tokens

• 50% of the total airdrop is reserved for SPS stakers

• The rest 50% of the airdrop is allocated to GLX stakers

Now, in order to qualify for the airdrop, you would need -

• At least 5,000 SPS tokens staked in your Splinterlands in-game wallet and/or

• At least 10,000 GLX tokens staked in Genesis League Sports / Goals

• If you're already into these 2 games but don’t have that much staked in tour wallet yet, this could be your wake-up call to consider increasing your stake.

Airdrop Schedule (By Year)

Now, while there is a gigantic amount of Colony tokens being given out to players of these 2 existing games, in order to maintain the value and a healthy economy around Colony token, they are not being dumped all at once. Instead, the team decided to let them distribute slowly to reward long-term players as a token of appreciation. Check out the yearly breakdown of Moonkarts Colony airdrop amount as shared in the table below:

As you can see clearly, the longer you stay staked with either SPS or GLX or both, the bigger your potential rewards.

Duration of the Token Drop

• A snapshot is taken daily at sharp 14:00 UTC (that’s around 12:00 PM EST).

• Around 28,800 COLONY tokens are dropped each day on each platform (Splinterlands and Genesis League Goal).

• Rewards are split proportionally based on how much SPS or GLX a player has staked.

So, for example, if there is currently a total of 100 million SPS is staked among all players, and you have 1 million of that total amount, you would get 1% of the day’s total airdrop amount allocated for SPS holders.

2nd Airdrop year starts

Just recently, the first year of the Colony airdrop has finished and following the table above, the token distribution for second year has started already, where both SPS and GLX stake holders will now get even more colony tokens, as stated in chart above.

How to Claim Your Tokens

• To get qualified before the daily drop, stake your SPS or GLX before the daily snapshot.
  After the snapshot, your claimable COLONY tokens will show up at your ArcadeColony account - Link

• You can claim them any time after they appear and no fear of losing your airdrop tokens, as they will get stacked up if you don't claim daily, though I would advice to wait for around an hour after the snapshot being taken, to avoid any transaction delays.

• Please note that staking mid-snapshot does not count you for that day, but you will surely qualify starting the next day onward and based on your staking amount.

Last but not least, thanks to the Arcade Colony team for their airdrop distribution strategy, as I really liked Arcade Colony’s way of distributing tokens to like-minded people who already engage in other gaming projects, reaching and building an engaged and long-term gaming community.
