The last season for Chaos Legion cards in the Modern Format!
+ My Double Game Activity in the Modern Format:
My Achievements in Season 157 and My Next Steps in the Current Season
On May 11, in a little over 8 days, the presale of the new set of cards will end: the Conclave Arcana Presale.
Two days later, on May 13, the General Sale will begin, in which it will be possible to buy the same packs of cards that can be purchased during the presale with the addition of the Starter Packs which will be the lowest cost packs, only 1000 DEC, but inside which it will be possible to find only common cards and rare cards.
I chose to wait for the General Sale to consider possible strategy to purchase Conclave Arcana packs and/or Conclave Arcana cards.
In fact, I purchased only 10 Standard Packs, the minimum needed to receive 1 copy of the Promo Arcane Skinwalker card
The beginning of the General Sale will produce the exiting of the Chaos Legion and Riftwatchers cards from the Modern Format and therefore as of May 13, 2025 only Rebellion and Arcana cards can be used in the Modern Format.
The release of the new set of cards will have a great impact on my game activity because:
- my favorite game mode is Ranked Play but only in Modern Format.
- the core of my card collection consists of Chaos Legion cards.
In fact I have a card collection consisting of 1635 cards = 34629 BCX.
Out of 34629 BCX I have 24054 BCX of Chaos Legion cards and Riftwatchers.
For the release of previous sets of cards, I have always followed a basic strategy:
- I sold most of my cards before they came out of Modern Format.
- I purchased packs and/or cards that could be used in the Modern Format.
For the release of the Arcana Conclave set, I have decided to change my strategy compared to the strategy I followed for the releases of the previous sets:
- I will continue to play in Modern Format even though I will only have 745 cards and 7965 BCX at the beginning of season 158.
- I will use my Chaos Legion cards in the Wild Format where I will use a bot even though I would love to play manually but the Wild Format is the realm of bots and playing manually would be little fun for me.
- I will use the rewards I earn in the Wild Format to build a collection of cards that is competitive again in the Modern Format
So until the end of the current season I will continue to play in the Modern Format with my two accounts (libertycrypto27 and libertygame27).
Starting next season I will play in Modern Format with my main account and play in Wild Format with my curation account for SPT tokens.
I'm curious to see the effect of the release of the new set and rotation in the Modern Format on the market value of Chaos Legion and Riftwatchers cards, so today I took a screenshot of the value of these card collections so I can compare it from a distance.
The game results and rewards I obtained in the previous season (season 157) and the results I will obtain in the current season (season 158) will be very important for me to evaluate the effects of the release of the new set on my game activity and to determine future purchase/upgrade strategies.
My dual game activity in Modern Format and my Achievements in Season 157
My favorite ranked play type format is the Modern Format and right now season 158 is underway and will end in 11 days and 20 hours.
Starting from season 152 I doubled my playing activity in Modern Format and so, even in the last completed season (season 157) I played in Modern Format with:
- @libertycrypto27 (my main account) -> Cards
- @libertygame27 (my curation account for SPT) -> Cards
With @libertycrypto27 in the Modern Format:
- I use a card collection (owned + soulbound) consisting of ****1420 carte = 28916 BCX = 626025 CP = 3267.28$ Market Value** (using Market Prices).
- I have a SPS stake = 135K (-50K delegated to libertygame27) = 85K effective
- I don't rent cards from the market and use only the cards I own
With @libertygame27 in Modern Format:
- I use a card collection (delegated by libertycrypto27 + soulbound) consisting of 239 carte = 9066 BCX = 95930 CP = 990.41$ Market Value** (using Market Prices).
- i have a SPS stake = 50K delegated by libertycrypto27
- in each season rent some cards from the market to increase the strength in battle

Season 157 was a very positive season from the point of view of game results because I improved the win rate, ranking and GLINT gain of both my accounts.
I am also happy that I managed to play more battles than in the previous season even though I never manage to use all the energy available because on several days I let my energy bar stand still at maximum.
The greatest satisfaction I received in season 157 is to have managed to enter in the Champion III league and for the first time I finished the season in the top 50 of the Diamond I league leaderboard and received 100K GLINT as an additional prize.
In the current season I will try to repeat this and my season goal will be to enter the Champion III league again!
The balance between rental income (libertycrypto27) and rental expense (libertygame27) was positive: +870 DEC although it worsened from the previous season (+1239.24 DEC) because with libertygame27 I rented more cards.

Based on the current market values of the HIVE token, the SPS token (highest bid value), and the DEC token (Lowest Ask value), I calculated the net dollar gain I earned by playing with my two accounts.

Compared to the previous season, libertycrypto27's financial results were almost the same ($9.32 vs $9.32) while libertygame27's financial results improved slightly ($2.11 vs $2.34).
Thanks to the GLINTs I earned during season 157 I made good progress in upgrading Rebellion Reward cards.
More than 1.5 months ago I completed the upgrade of common Rebellion Reward cards.
This early in the season I also completed the upgrade of the 12 rare Rebellion Reward cards because I upgraded to the maximum level of Dark Arborist which was the only card left at level 7.
To complete the upgrade of rare reward cards, I purchased 100 Rare draw.
With the remaining 180K Glint I purchased 24 Epic Draw.
I made four upgrades:
- Kha'zi Conjurer: level 2 -> level 3
- Shock Trooper: level 2 -> level 3
- Night Reaper: level 2 -> level 3
- Halfling Refugee: level 3 -> level 4
In the next image you can see my Reward Rebellion Epic cards.
Even with libertygame27 I am making progress in upgrading Rebellion reward cards because I have almost completed the upgrade of common reward cards.
My next steps in Modern Format current season
In the current season I will continue to play and have fun in the Modern Format with my main account and I will also continue to play with libertygame27 but most of all I will try to play a lot more battles than in the previous season to try to earn as much Glint as possible to make further progress in upgrading Rebellion reward soulbound cards because starting next season I will not be able to use my Chaos Legion cards in the Modern Format and the Rebellion Reward cards, which I have not used much in battle so far, will become very important for me starting season 159.
In the coming days I will stop renting some of my cards from the Beta and Untamed collections because they might come in handy when I return to play in the Wild Format.
My last battles played in Modern Format.
I conclude this post by showing my last two battles won in Modern Format to show the difference in SPS gain in different leagues and with different amount of staked SPS.

L'ultima stagione delle carte Chaos Legion nel Modern Format

L'11 maggio, tra poco più di 8 giorni terminerà la prevendita del nuovo set di carte: il set Conclave Arcana
Due giorni dopo, il 13 maggio, inizierà la General Sale, in cui sarà possibile acquistare gli stessi pacchi di carte acquistabili durante la presale con l'aggiunta degli Starter Packs che saranno i pacchi dal costo più basso, solo 1000 DEC, ma al cui interno sarà possibile trovare solo carte comuni e carte rare.
Io ho scelto di aspettare la General Sale per valutare possibili strategia di acquisto dei Conclave Arcana packs e/o delle Conclave Arcana cards.
Infatti ho acquistato solo 10 Standard Pack, il minimo necessario per ricevere 1 copia della carta Promo Arcane Skinwalker
L'inizio della General Sale produrrà la fuoriuscita delle carte Chaos Legion e Riftwatchers dal Modern Format e quindi a partire dal 13 maggio 2025 nel Modern Format potranno essere utilizzate solo le carte Rebellion e le carte Arcana.
Il rilascio del nuovo set di carte avrà un grande impatto sulla mia attività di gioco perchè:
- la mia modalità di gioco preferita è il Ranked Play ma solo nel Modern Format
- il cuore della mia collezione di carte è costituita dalle carte Chaos Legion.
Infatti ho una collezione di carte costituita da 1635 carte = 34629 BCX.
Su 34629 BCX ho 24054 BCX di carte Chaos Legion e Riftwatchers.
Per il rilascio dei precedenti set di carte ho sempre seguito una strategia base:
- ho venduto la maggior parte delle mie carte prima che uscivano dal Modern Format.
- ho acquistato pacchi e/o carte utilizzabili nel Modern Format.
Per il rilascio del set Conclave Arcana ho deciso di cambiare strategia:
- continuerò a giocare nel Modern Format anche se avrò solo 745 carte e 7965 BCX all'inizio della stagione 158.
- utilizzerò le mie carte Chaos Legion nel Wild Format dove userò un bot anche se mi piacerebbe giocare manualmente ma il Wild Format è il regno dei bots e giocare manualmente sarebbe poco divertente per me.
- utilizzerò le ricompense che guadagnerò nel Wild Format per costruirmi una collezione di carte nuovamente competitiva nel Modern Format
Quindi fino alla fine della stagione in corso continuerò a giocare nel Modern Format con i miei due account (libertycrypto27 e libertygame27).
A partire dalla prossima stagione giocherò nel Modern Format con il mio account principale e giocherò nel Wild Format con il mio curation account per i token SPT.
Sono curioso di vedere l'effetto del rilascio del nuovo set e della rotazione nel Modern Format sul valore di mercato delle carte Chaos Legion e Riftwatchers e per questo motivo oggi ho fatto uno screenshot del valore di queste collezioni di carte per poterlo confrontare a distanza di tempo.
I risultati di gioco e le ricompense che ho ottenuto nella stagione precedente (stagione 156) e i risultati che otterrò nella stagione in corso (stagione 157) saranno molto importanti per me per valutare gli effetti del rilascio del nuovo set sulla mia attività di gioco e per stabilire strategie di acquisto/upgrade future.
La mia doppia attività di gioco nel Modern Format: Risultati e prossimi obiettivi
Il mio formato di tipo ranked play preferito è il Modern Format e in questo momento è in corso la stagione 158 che terminerà tra 11 giorni e 20 ore.
A partire dalla stagione 152 ho raddoppiato la mia attività di gioco nel Modern Format e così, anche nell'ultima stagione conclusa (la stagione 157) ho giocato nel Modern Format con:
- @libertycrypto27 (il mio account principale) -> Cards
- @libertygame27 (il mio curation account per i token SPT) -> Cards
Con @libertycrypto27 nel Modern Format:
- utilizzo una collezione di carte (di proprietà + soulbound) composta da 1420 carte = 28916 BCX = 626025 CP = 3267.28$ Market Value (using Market Prices).

La stagione 157 è stata una stagione molto positiva dal punto di vista dei risultati di gioco perchè ho migliorato il win rate, il ranking e il guadagno in GLINT di entrambi i miei accounts.
Sono anche contento di essere riuscito a giocare più battaglie rispetto alla stagione precedente anche se non riesco mai a sfruttare tutta l'energia a disposizione perchè in diversi giorni ho lasciato la barra della mia energia ferma al massimo.
La soddisfazione più grande che ho ricevuto nella stagione 157 è essere riuscito ad entrare nella lega Champion III e per la prima volta ho terminato la stagione nella top 50 della classifica della lega Diamond I e ho ricevuto 100K GLINT come premio aggiuntivo.
Nella stagione in corso cercherò di ripetermi e il mio obiettivo stagionale sarà quello di accedere nuovamente alla lega Champion III!
Il saldo tra ricavi dal noleggio (libertycrypto27) e spese per il noleggio (libertygame27) è stato positivo: +870 DEC anche se è peggiorato rispetto alla stagione precedente (+1239.24 DEC) perchè con libertygame27 ho preso in noleggio un numero maggiore di carte.

Rispetto alla stagione precedente i risultati finanziari di libertycrypto27 sono stati quasi uguali (9.32$ vs 9.32$) mentre sono leggermente migliorati i risultati finanziari di libertygame27 (2.11$ vs 2.34$).
Grazie ai GLINT che ho guadagnato durante la stagione 157 ho fatto dei buoni progressi nell'upgrade delle carte Rebellion Reward.
Più di 1 mese e mezzo fa ho completato l'upgrade delle carte Rebellion Reward comuni.
In questo inizio di stagione ho completato anche l'upgrade delle 12 carte Rebellion Reward rare perchè ho fatto l'upgrade al livello massimo di Dark Arborist che era l'unica carta rimasta al livello 7.
Per completare l'upgrade delle carte reward rare ho acquistato 100 Rare draw.
Con i restanti 180K Glint ho acquistato 24 Epic Draw.
Ho fatto 4 upgrade:

Nella stagione in corso continuerò a giocare e a divertirmi nel Modern Format con il mio account principale e continuerò a giocare anche con libertygame27 ma soprattutto cercherò di giocare molte più battaglie rispetto alla stagione precedente per cercare di guadagnare più Glint possibili per fare ulteriori progressi nell'upgrade delle carte Rebellion reward soulbound perchè a partire dalla prossima stagione non potrò usare le mie carte Chaos Legion nel Modern Format e le carte Rebellion Reward, che fino ad ora non ho usato molto in battaglia, diventeranno molto importanti per me a partire dalla stagione 159.
Nei prossimi giorni interromperò il noleggio di alcune carte delle collezioni Beta e Untamed perchè mi potrebbero tornare utili quando tornerò a giocare nel Wild Format.

Yes I will play in modern but also in the wild with my Chaos Legion cards and I will use a bot and if I have good results I will continue otherwise I will opt to rent my cards.

Ciao Liberty, io sono davvero indeciso se acquistare oppure no 10 pacchetti di carte nuove, cioè della nuova serie. Non me la sento di affrontare acquisti più consistenti come ho fatto nelle ultime edizioni, dove poi mi sono visto impossibilitato ad usare le mie carte nella sezione in cui gioco che è la Modern. Ora ti faccio una domanda difficilissima. Acquistare solo 10 pacchi di carte della nuova edizione secondo te è una mossa utile o quasi inutile? sentiti libero di rispondere quello che vuoi, alla fine prenderò una decisione e sarò io il responsabile di quella decisione.
Personally, I would have chosen to sell my CL cards immediately they get rotated out of modern, but I feel that I earn with them when I participate in Guild battles. So, I have no choice but to leave them and keep using them to compete.
Surely their price value will drop immediately they're rotated out, but it's better to watch and see how it unfolds. You have a decent strategy
