Kumusta na mga ka-tribo? Pasensya na at medyo busy tayo sa ating hanapbuhay sa labas at sana maintindihan nyo. As the theme suggests, the color for this week would be "Yellow". Indeed, this neutral color played a significant role in our household especially when the kids were still young. We've got "sweet tooth" you know, so it means that they love everything that I make when it comes to sweetened delicacies such as sweetened squash, jackfruits, guavas, pineapples, etc.
This is the reason why I always plant squash in our backyard to make it more handy whenever I feel like cooking sweetened squash or stewed squash. Squash is quite expensive in the market and it's sold per slice or by kilo. So why not plant some seeds if you have some time to cultivate in your backyard?
Yellow Squash
See, it's fresh and you can have the whole squash if you like!
Squash is a healthy fruit with high fiber and lots of nutrients and antioxidant that is beneficial to our wellbeing.
Jackfruit
Jackfruit is one of my favorite fruits. The ones at the back bear fruits twice a year. We love to eat the ripe ones and the rest will be preserved when it's more than enough for our consumption. I like to eat the boiled jackfruit seeds as well.
Minatamis na Langka
Fresh Lemonsito/kalamonding (citrus)
These yellow citrus fruits came from our backyard too. I love the sweet n' sour flavor. I use it for my adobo and steaks to enhance the flavor.
My Yellow Beach Umbrella - Of course it's not food. It served its purpose whenever our internet connection is poor. We're surrounded with sturdy vintage trees (at least 40 yrs old) and we're on a dead spot!:(
It was a memorable occasion when we had a boodle fight where the kids enjoyed grilling our marinades on broad daylight so we used our wide yellow umbrella!
Yellow Band Uniforms
These band uniforms with yellow combination are my products, all of which were cut n sewn by yours truly!
Our Yellow Motorcycle
I use our yellow XRM whenever I go to the farm or when I drop Tonya in school. I use it in going to church with my grandkids too.
Aside from my green ornamental plants, our dwarf yellow bells that sprawled freely on our fence looked bushy. It served as a landmark whenever there are deliveries in our area.
Well,it seems that yellow revolve around us from the kitchen and beyond!lol!
This is my entry with Yellow as our theme for this week.
Till then,
Wow!
Would love to have a variety of fruits and veggies on our yard too.
This is one of our goals.
Thank you for this post!
It's easy dear. Actually , you can even use the matured seeds from the veggies you've purchased such as squash and spinach (alugbati) or you may procure the seedlings at the DA office in your place. Thanks for the visit dear!
Nice motor you have Sis it really helps when you know how to drive.
Yes sis, I even had a pink scooter which was the same as that used in the film "Maria Mercedes" starred by Talia way back then. It's a necessity here instead of the 4-wheel drive you know unless it's urgent. That's why I can go right away anytime without looking for a driver.😊
Wow,thats a lot of yellow .I'm amazed all of those vege and fruits are just in your yard.
