Desfile de gigantes // Parade of giants

Hola querido hiver.

Hoy quiero compartir contigo unas imágenes curiosas que pude captar el día que viajé a Tarragona a encontrarme en persona con otros hivers por primera vez.

Y es que dio la casualidad de que nos topamos con un desfile de gigantes que marchaban por el paseo principal de la ciudad. No dejamos pasar la ocasión de disfrutar el ambiente festivo y de inmortalizarlo con nuestros teléfonos.

Al parecer cada gigante iba acompañado por una asociación o entidad ciudadana local. Eso deduje al comprobar que cada grupo llevaba camisetas de distintos colores y con letreros que identificaban su pertenencia.

Me llamó la atención que casi todas las figuras eran femeninas. Al principio de la comitiva sí que había algún caballero o noble, pero no me dio tiempo de hacer fotos.

Unas eran transportadas mediante ruedas, pero otras tenían una persona dentro que las cargaba. Esas son más divertidas, ya que bailan al son de la música, acercándose y alejándose de la gente y dando vueltas sobre sí mismas. Cada dos o tres gigantes había un grupo de músicos tradicionales amenizando el desfile.

Las figuras eran tanto de personajes como de fantasía.

Aquí otra fantasía, esta vez más amable.

Esta iba en pareja con la anterior. Mi interpretación fue que eran la Luna en estado de cuarto y llena. ¿Qué te sugieren a ti?

Los niños miraban asombrados a los gigantes, pero a algunos les daban miedo y rompían a llorar, de todo hubo. A mí esta flamenca con zapatillas deportivas me pareció de lo más divertido.

El que más me gustó de todos fue el de Frida Kahlo. Estaba muy logrado, la figura era vistosa y detallada. Además, si te fijas en la parte de abajo, la llevaba una persona que iba en silla de ruedas, lo que tiene más mérito. No puedo evitar empatizar con esos detalles que pasan inadvertidos a la mayoría.

Por suerte ya teníamos la función de subida de vídeos integrada en Ecency y grabé un poco en movimiento para probar cómo funciona. Así puedes disfrutar el ambiente de fiesta y alegría que se respiraba.

Hi, dear hiver.

Today I want to share with you some curious images that I was able to capture the day that I travelled to Tarragona to meet in person with other hivers for the first time.

And it so happened that we came across a parade of giants marching along the main promenade of the city. We did not miss the opportunity to enjoy the festive atmosphere and to immortalise it with our phones.

It seems that each giant was accompanied by a local citizens' association or organisation. That's what I deduced from the fact that each group wore different coloured T-shirts with signs identifying their affiliation.

I was struck by the fact that almost all the figures were female. At the beginning of the procession there was a gentleman or nobleman, but I didn't have time to take photos.

Some of them were transported by wheels, but others had a person inside carrying them. Those are more fun, as they dance to the music, moving towards and away from the people and spinning around on themselves. Every two or three giants had a group of traditional musicians playing in the parade.

The figures were both characters and fantasy figures.

Here is another fantasy, this time more friendly.

This one was a pair with the previous one. My interpretation was that they were the Moon at quarter and full. What do they suggest to you?

The children looked at the giants in amazement, but some were afraid of them and burst into tears, there were all kinds. I thought this flamingo in trainers was the funniest.

The one I liked best of all was the Frida Kahlo one. It was very successful, the figure was eye-catching and detailed. Also, if you look at the bottom, she was being carried by a person in a wheelchair, which is even more impressive. I can't help but empathise with those details that go unnoticed by most people.

Luckily we already had the video upload feature built into Ecency and I recorded a bit on the move to test how it works. So you can enjoy the party atmosphere and the joyful atmosphere.
