What nature tells you [ENG-PT/BR]

My late father was a geographer's assistant in Angola from 1969 to 1977. In Portugal, he was an employee of the Ministry of the Environment, and his life was closely linked to nature.

While he was alive, whenever someone came to him with complaints and grievances, saying that life was this or that, he had an expression that I will never forget and that was a reference point in my development as an individual: “look at nature, it has the answer.” I often realized that people did not understand what he was saying, even though he was always available to help with anything. But first came the expression: “Look at nature, it has the answer.”

Believe me, it took me years to decipher that expression, considering that I had been hearing it since I was a child. I even got to know some of his co-workers and geologists who worked with him. They were people who found all the answers in nature.

Genes are passed on, and obviously I began to find many of my answers by observing nature.

Sometimes we don't have the best conditions to sprout. However, there is a force that takes root in soil that is not very fertile, or not fertile at all. Almost like a provocation, something bursts forth from nature. I draw an analogy with our lives and, so far, at HIVE.

Just as these plants sprout from nothing, so can we. The conditions don't matter. What matters is wanting and being reborn.

O que a natureza te diz

O meu saudoso pai foi auxiliar de geógrafo em Angola, de 1969 a 1977. Em Portugal foi funcionário do Ministério do Ambiente, a sua vida foi ligada ao contacto directo com a natureza.

Enquanto vivo, sempre que alguém vinha com desabafos e lamurias, que a vida é isto e aquilo, ele tinha uma expressão que jamais vou esquecer e que foi uma referência na minha construção enquanto indivíduo: “olha a natureza, ela tem a resposta”. Percebi muitas vezes que as pessoas não entendiam o que ele dizia, embora estivesse sempre disponível para ajudar seja no que fosse. Mas, primeiro vinha a expressão: “olha a natureza, ela tem a resposta”.

Acreditem que andei anos para decifrar aquela expressão, atendendo que já a ouvia desde criança. Cheguei a conhecer alguns dos seus colegas de trabalho e geólogos que com ele trabalharam. Eram pessoas que encontravam na natureza todas as respostas.

Os genes passam e, obviamente, comecei a encontrar muitas das minhas respostas observando a natureza.

Por vezes não temos as melhores condições para brotarmos. No entanto, há uma força que cria raizes em solos pouco ou nada férteis. Quase como uma provocação, algo irrompe do natureza. Faço a analogia com as nossas vidas e, até aqui, na HIVE.
