Visiting Grandma and Uncle + Jollibee Time (Day 2/4)

In my previous post, I mentioned that I stayed in my cousin's place for a few days. Originally, the second day was to meet up with my Japanese student and his family. However, due to changes in their schedule, we moved up our meetup to dinner the night before, so I'm free the whole second day.

Since we're already in Mactan Island, I asked my aunt if we could go and visit our grandma's and uncle's graves. It so happened that my cousin, Nicole, had never visited, so we decided to go.

We slept pretty late the night before, so we just took our time in the morning. I had coffee with my aunt (since my cousins don't drink coffee).

Our aunt also made this dish for us. It was delicious! We had it for brunch...

We headed out at around 12:30 PM and went directly to the cemetery. We bought some flowers and lit candles for our grandma and uncle. It's been a while since I last visited their graves. We're also glad that Nicole could finally visit them as well.

Our next stop was the church. My mom asked me to do a Mass intention for our dear departed souls. We also prayed and lit some candles. I also bought rosary bracelets for my parents, aunts, and cousins. Wearing a rosary bracelet always makes me feel safe.

The church is near the market, and my mom asked me to buy a certain ingredient that's not available where we live. But before we went to the market, we stopped by Jollibee for some food.

Jollibee is indeed a great place to sit down, enjoy good food, and talk about random stuff. hahaha We were actually considering whether we'd go to my other aunt's house. (The aunt that's not really close, so it feels awkward... XD) However, we thought that we're already in the area, so might as well show our faces. HAHA

It was so funny thought because while we were there, we felt the awkwardness again... even though Godwyn was trying to hold a conversation with our aunt (He's the most sociable among us), he was secretly messaging us... asking when we'll go home. XD

We stayed for a couple of hours before heading home. When we reached their place, we could all relax again. LOL We talked non-stop while playing mobile games, had dinner, freshened up, and talked again before going to bed.

I had to sleep earlier than usual since I'm meeting my Taiwanese student the next day. I had to be at their hotel around 8 AM, and it's around an hour to get there.

So yeah, that was the second day of my and my cousin Nicole's mini vacation. :) I'll end this post here, and I'll see you on the next one! (^^,)/
