I dislike commuting, and I've disliked it even more after working from home for the past ten years. It's tiring, and the traffic jam in our place isn't a joke. That's why I try to keep the times I go out to a minimum.
Sadly, one of my uncles passed away a few days ago. I call him Papa Uncle because I had lived in their house for a few months years ago, and he and his late wife (my mom's sister) took care of me like a real daughter. They were my parents back then, and I couldn't thank them enough for everything they did.
Yesterday, my father and I decided to go to their place to bid farewell. It may be a sad thing, but we just take it that he's finally reuniting with my aunt.
Their house is quite far from our place, so the commute wouldn't be easy. We had to change transportation, and go through traffic jams here and there. However, we were careful of them time. We headed out as early as we could after taking care of the furbabies, so mama won't have a hard time while she's alone with them.
It was a gloomy day yesterday. After taking the e-bike, we waited for our bus to come. We only waited for a couple of minutes. However, we had to stand the whole way because it was full. I don't mind standing on the bus, though. I actually enjoy it.
The first bus ride took us around 50 minutes to the next place. We waited for an air-conditioned jeepney or minibus to take us to the next place. We stayed for around five minutes or so before finally getting on one.
However, the one we took isn't the usual minibus, so we'd have to take a different route. I'm good with it, though, as this route has fewer traffic jams, and we get to see interesting views. We just need to take an extra tricycle ride to get to our destination.
Instead of buildings and a sea of people, we get to see this view. The minibus ride took around 40 minutes. It's actually better than taking the main road. Then, we took a tricycle to reach the main road in under 10 minutes and another tricycle to my uncle's place, which took several minutes.
It took us more than two hours to get there, and that's already an accomplishment. If we had left much later, it would have taken even longer to get there.
I saw my uncle and bid goodbye for the last time. Then, I got the chance to spend time with my cousins and my nieces and nephews. We reminisced about memories with my uncle, discussed plans, and caught up on our lives.
This place has also been a part of my life. I used to jog around this street, and just two streets away, there's a basketball court where I would play, dribbling and practicing my shooting as exercise.
We only stayed for a few hours. The sky has become extra gloomy, and going home would take more hours, so we said our goodbyes.
We decided to walk down instead of just waiting for a tricycle when it started raining. Luckily, there was a store where we could take shelter, and later, a tricycle came. We got on an air-conditioned minibus as soon as we got to the main road, which was a great thing, given that it was heavily raining.
Due to the rain and traffic congestion, it took us over an hour to reach our next destination. That's more than 20 minutes more, but it's all good. We arrived safely, and the weather has calmed down.
We dropped by the shopping mall... anyway, the bus station to get home is on the opposite side of the mall, so it's better to get in and explore a bit.
I like this new look of the mall. As always, I checked the art store and found out (as expected) that getting items online would save me more money. haha So, I bought some coffee beans instead. (I'll post about it next time. XD)
Finally, on the bus home. It took us about an hour, but I took a bunch of photos on the way, so please enjoy them!
The commute time was almost twice as long as the hours we spent in my uncle's home, but I'm glad I could go there to say my last goodbye.
His burial would be this weekend, but I don't think I'd be able to go. Perhaps my father would go together with other relatives then.
Life is precious, yet short. So, let's appreciate even the simplest things. Being able to wake up each day and getting another chance to experience life is already a blessing, so enjoy it.
That's all for now. Thank you for reading and checking out this post. See you around! (^^,)/
Thank you... :)

Every day is a big blessings from god. We sure must be thankful everyday.
