I'm going to share two things in this post, one is about the cake my mama and I made for grandma's birthday, and the second one is a continuation of my previous post (hair coloring).

Grandma's Birthday Cake!

It's my grandma's 88th birthday today, so my family and I wanted to surprise her. Not everyone in the family will be able to visit her because we have two furbabies to take care of, and it takes quite a budget to go there.

Going to the port takes about an hour and a half by bus, then we have to take the ferry for another hour and a half to two hours. Because of this, we decided that Papa would be the one to go there to surprise her, while Mama and I prepare something for her. :)

I baked a cake for her yesterday using the air fryer. I made a mango cake, then Mama made a mango compote we used as filling and topping, as well as a mango jelly with cheese to cover the cake with.

It's our first time making such a cake, but it turned out really well. It tasted amazing, too!

And since the cake is going to travel for around 3 - 4 hours, I made this cake box using cardboard. It's a customized one to fit the cake in perfectly. I lined the inside with a baking paper, and also made a custom cake plate lined with baking paper, so it won't stick and become messy.

My father decided to leave early this morning, so I also had to wake up before 4:30 AM to place the cake in the box and wrap it with this pretty ribbon. My family also prepared a small birthday gift in addition to the cake.

At around 9:30 AM, my father finally arrived safely in his hometown to surprise Grandma. He sent me these photos of Grandma opening our surprise for her. She looked really happy! <3

Then, I video-called Papa, so Mama and I could greet Grandma. Hopefully, next time, Mama and I can visit her, too. By then, Papa would be the one in charge of the furbabies. hahah

Now, she is enjoying her special day with Papa, my uncle, cousins and nephews. They went to church earlier today, and perhaps this afternoon, they're going to visit Grandpa's grave. <3 Mama and I are so happy to see Papa bonding with Grandma again. We're lowkey jealous, though. hahahah

My Reward for Hair Coloring!!!

In my previous post, I shared a story and photos of me coloring both of my parents' hair. My father requested that I do it, and he asked me what reward I wanted. And as I've shared before, I wanted some lasagna. ^^



Welp, I got more than that! yaaaay~!!!

Of course, there was the lasagna from Greenwich. It's a Filipino pizza chain, but they also sell lasagna and other stuff.

Craving satisfied! hahah Papa bought me two, so I devoured one of them almost immediately. Then, I saved the other one for dinner. It was so good. Even though the garlic bread had become a bit soggy, it was still delicious. I enjoyed it.

Aside from lasagna, Papa also bought Kraklets and Dutchmill Delight for me and Mama to share. This is usually our go-to movie/anime watching snacks. Well, we don't have Kraklets that often, but Dutchmill or Yakult has become a daily thing, especially for Mama to aid her digestion. ^^

I drink it at times, too, because it's delicious. hahaha I like Yakult, but recently Dutchmill Delight has become my favorite! ^^ It's fun to drink while watching some movies on my night off.

We'll most likely have them later since Mama and I are planning to watch something tonight. :) It's more on me rewatching, though... but I don't mind!



So yeah, those are my stories for today. I hope Papa and Grandma have a blast today with other family members and relatives, while Mama and I will have a cozy movie night with the furbabies later.
