Going to Divine Mercy with Mama to Light Candles for Her Birthday...

It was my Mama's birthday two days ago. We planned to go to the shrine, but because of the typhoon, we decided against it. Yesterday was another option, but there's still mud and puddles everywhere.

This morning, my mom sent me a message around 6 AM asking if I wanted to accompany her to the shrine. I was still asleep because I watched a horror film before going to bed last night, and I was sleeping so soundly. LOL But then, her usual alarm went off from the next room and woke me up. hahaha So, I could read her message and agreed to go with her.

We went out at around 6:30 AM. The moon was still up. hahaha And there's a bird as well! XD

There are areas that look like the photo above. It's like a swamp, but luckily, we need not pass by such a place. There were still some mud leading to the road from our house, but it has mostly dried up because of the sunny weather yesterday.

The position of the bird is just so cool, so I took a photo of it with the sun in the background. :)

We arrived at the shrine at around 7 AM. It's a Sunday, so there were some people. I think there's a mass every 8 or 8:30 AM. I'm not that sure of the schedule.

The place is really lovely... with a lot of stairs. I actually had to take these stairs twice this morning because my mom forgot something, so I had to go back. hahaha

We lit some candles and offered our prayers. We're grateful for the gift of life and good health.

The candles were still lit up when I went back up, and I thought it was interesting to take a photo of it.

It's my second time going to the shrine, but it's my first time getting inside. The last time I went with Papa, it was still closed since we came so early. haha

After praying, we went out and I took photos of and with the birthday girl. Well, belated birthday girl... haha XD

We already went down when my mom remembered that she forgot to give her offering, so I volunteered to go back up to do it. While I was there, my mom happily chatted with her new friend. There's a house nearby, and the owner is selling some plants. Every Sunday, she also sells snacks and desserts, alongside some of her harvests.

We ended up buying some sweet potato dessert and ube rice flan. They're delicious and not very sweet. We paired it with green tea when we arrived home.

We were supposed to buy bread for breakfast, but we used up our money for this, so Papa had to go back to buy some bread. Our fur babies and another adopted fur baby enjoy having some bread with us, so we usually stock up at home. The bakery is around 5-7 minutes away from our place. It's both for breakfast and afternoon merienda.

I'm happy to spend the morning with my family as usual... and also, go for a morning walk with Mama. She hardly goes out when we're living in the city, but now, you see her outside a lot. hahaha
