Hello everybody! Today I wanted share the pictures from the previous post about Banteay Srey temple. I learned some history of this temple but I do not know enough English to write about it.
I just wrote short and important points about the history related to this temple. Many words I do not know I used Google Translate because those words are deep and new for me.
This temple was built in 967 AD by King Rajendravarman. So this Banteay Srei temple is 1055 years old.
Although the temple is more than 1,000 years old, the carvings are still as beautiful as ever. Banteay Srey was inscribed by the French National Guard in 1916.
On the walls of the temple and almost all the gates are carved with flowers and other ancient Khmer carvings. Under the living works of Khmer ancestors, only the words are very beautiful and wonderful.
Banteay Srey temple was originally called "Iso Bora" which means "Borey of Iso", but later it was called Banteay Srey temple.
I read that this temple is famous for being built of lotus stone and with the most vivid sculptures with three towers. The three towers face east.
Some temples are being repaired, so they are not allowed inside the temple. Well, I only take pictures from a distance of the temple. It's noon, so it's a little hot, but I enjoy exploring this wonderful place.
This small temple has three top doors, it is very beautiful. Nowadays, it is popular to take the example of the gate of Banteay Srey of temple as the gate of the wedding.
The carvings of this temple is more beautiful and clearer than Angkor Wat but the place is smaller than Angkor Wat.
These are the stones of various temples that have fallen and they have chosen to put them together.
This is the back exit of the temple and we can go back on this road.
These are the pictures I took from outside the fence of the temple. The fence looks solid but is broken in some places.
These are the ruins of the temple and have seen a lot of stone outside the temple fence.
These are the pride of every Cambodian child. Thank you very much for visited in my blog. Have a wonderful time everyone.
I love old buildings like this. It's incredible how much detail went into them, yet today we have the machinery to do this quicker than they would have, but we don't make anything as intricate or long lasting.

Cambodia is rich in culture and arts. In fact, our students here in the Philippines are learning about the country because it's included in their lesson. This country is impressive and diverse.
