Hello everyone!
Hope all are safe and well! πβ€π
Today, I want to share a simple but happy moment with my parents. I am so grateful that I can treat them to a meal outside, even if it happens only once in a blue moon. πβ€οΈ Seeing them happy makes me happy, too. I'm glad that I can give them a little treat and spend time with them. πβ€
As we grow older, we realize that our parents will not always be as strong and active as they used to be. That is why I want to make the most of the time I have with them. Even simple moments like eating together outside can become special memories that I will treasure.

This little treat happened after my father had his laboratory tests at the hospital. We had to go to the hospital for his medical needs, and by the time everything was finished, it was almost lunchtime.
Since we were far from home and still needed to travel for hours to get back, I decided to treat my parents to lunch at Chowking. Luckily, it was just within walking distance of the hospital, so we didn't need to travel far to find somewhere to eat.
It was a practical choice because we needed to eat before our long journey home. Traveling while hungry is not comfortable, especially when we have already spent hours attending to hospital appointments and other errands.

Honestly, there is a different feeling when you see your parents enjoying food outside the house. We usually eat the meals we prepare at home, so eating somewhere else once in a while feels like a little change from our normal routine.
Of course, the food we cook at home is still special because we can prepare it according to our taste and budget. But sometimes, it is nice to let our parents experience something different, too. π
What makes me happy is not just the food itself. It is seeing them enjoy the moment. Even if we don't always have the chance to eat outside, I am glad that I could treat them that day. πβ€
My parents even told me that eating outside is expensive. And honestly, they are right! π The money I spent on our fast-food meal could have bought ingredients and food that we could prepare at home for several meals.
When you think about it, eating at home is more practical, especially when you are trying to save money. We can buy vegetables, fish, meat, rice, and other ingredients that can feed the family. That is one reason why we don't eat outside very often.
But on that particular day, I thought it was worth it. We were already away from home, it was almost lunchtime, and we still had a long trip ahead of us. We needed to eat, and I wanted to give my parents a little treat at the same time.

After our main course, I also ordered dessert. Why not? We don't always get to eat outside, so I wanted us to enjoy the meal a little more. πβ€οΈ
I know that the total cost was more than what we would usually spend on a meal at home. My parents reminded me that it was expensive, and I couldn't disagree with them. But sometimes, we also need to enjoy the little things in life when we have the opportunity.
I don't mean that we should spend money carelessly or always choose to eat outside. We still need to be wise with our budget and prioritize our needs. There are many expenses to think about, especially when it comes to our household and my father's health.
That is why this treat was special to me. It was not something we did every day. It was simply a little moment of happiness after a hospital visit, before we traveled back home.
And seeing my parents happy made me feel that the money was well spent. β€οΈ

I am grateful that I had the chance to do this for my parents. They have done so much for me throughout my life, and even if I cannot give them everything they deserve, I am happy whenever I can do something for them.
I know that life comes with many responsibilities and challenges. We have bills to pay, food to prepare, health concerns to attend to, and many other things to think about. But in the middle of all these responsibilities, I hope we can still find time to enjoy simple moments with the people we love.
Our parents will not be with us forever, so while they are here, let us make them feel loved in whatever way we can. It doesn't have to be expensive. Even our time, attention, and care can mean so much to them.
For now, I am happy and thankful for this simple lunch treat. We were able to eat together, enjoy a little change from our usual meals at home, and travel back with our stomachs full. Most importantly, I got to see my parents happy. π₯°β€οΈ
