Hello aseanhivers! How are you? Have you eaten yet? Well I have something to share to you today. Well this recipe was last week's dinner but I'm very busy so I just posted it today. This is very simple but for us who can eat pork once in a blue moon this is special. We walked to the market and we bought pork. We are looking for beef but beef bones are available and internals so we decided to buy pork. We seldom ear pork because it's very expensive. Normally in my hometown it only costs 6 dollars but here in the island where I live it costs 10 to 11 dollars depends on the stocks.
Then when we arrive it's already dark so he started to clean it and slice everything needed.
This blog is not actually a step by step guide but this is just a visualization because I know we have different ways of cooking soup and this is an ordinary things and we all knew how to cook a soup. What makes this special is that my husband fried the spices as well as the meat then put vinegar and let it boil for minutes before adding water.
One of my favorite vegetable for a soup is the pechay. I loved it so much and also the cabbage like I have to put a lot to satisfy my cravings. The pechay is a bit odd here not so shiny because the vendor said this is natural and they did not put any insecticide. And that's better. My husband cooked it for two hours hahaha it's literally more than two hours because he used the electric stove and suddenly power interruption strike twice. We all are hungry and I really thought electricity won't return. But in God's favor it returns and we finished cooking.
Then the exciting part is the eating time. My kids are very excited they keep chanting that the food is "oink, oink" Hahaha sounds funny but that's how they appreciate the food that is a pork and they are very happy because they like it but unfortunately we can ate it very seldom. I enjoyed our dinner. We ate dinner first because my hsubad did something paperwork and he ate very late in the night.
That's all for today hivers. Thank you so much for reading my blog and I really appreciate all your comments. I would like also to introduce to you my husband @elvisvonblog I hope you will support him too on his blog.
Thank you so much!
I could really feel the warmth of your home through your story. It’s true, sometimes the simplest meals become the most special, especially when they’re rare treats like pork on your island. And your kids calling it "oink oink" made me smile😄
Yeah. That's why last month we went back to our hometown we ate a lot of pork hahaha because it's free at home. Now we're back in the island and had fish and chicken only🤣
