Fresh young coconut ice is a popular local product with a variety of uses and advantages. The region is unique in that it is a coastal environment that serves as a home for coconut trees. Young coconut ice businesses profit from this circumstance, making it relatively simple for local suppliers to meet the demand for young coconuts.
These young coconut ice entrepreneurs chose a place to sell along a river estuary in a local town covered with shady trees. So this location has become a favorite choice for residents to take shelter for a while while enjoying various fresh drink creations made from young coconut.
The young coconuts pictured below are among the varieties available here; devoted enthusiasts of young coconut iced drinks frequently select these particular young coconuts. This coconut, which tastes sweeter than regular coconuts, is distinguished by its crimson fibers. Compared to other varieties of young coconut ice, this one is more expensive.
All it takes to savor this young coconut ice with red fiber is Rp. 1000, or around $0.64. In the meantime, a glass of other coconut ice costs Rp 500 (or the equivalent $0.32). This relatively cheap price is why this young coconut ice business is selling well every day.
And this is one of their work tools when running a young coconut ice business, in the form of a coconut peeler, which is designed in such a way to make the fresh coconut ice business easier. Although sometimes they also use machetes, which are usually used to peel coconuts.
Finally, red-fiber coconut ice became my choice after capturing the moment and also conducting a short interview with the owner of this business.
Apart from fresh, young coconut ice, sugar cane ice drinks are also available here and are another choice for local residents. This sugarcane is supplied from other regions because the availability of local sugarcane is not enough to meet demand.
That was the end of my trip when I visited one of the local businesses in the field of natural fresh drinks in my hometown (Aceh, Indonesia). I hope you find this post interesting as well as helpful!
