Surprise Visit to My Long Time No See College Friend who Opened their 9th Branch of Fried Chicken Eatery

Who would have thought after 12 years of not seeing each other this friend of mine will have her own fried chicken haus with 9 branches in operation in different locations around her neighborhood and nearby places. Indeed her success was truly a manifestation of the famous line, "Your attitude is your altitude."

I consider her a successful entrepreneur and empowered businesswoman. I am so proud of her and she is a mother of 3 children. We catched up as we did not see each other for more than a decade and I am amazed that her family business is growing and booming. She deserve all the blessings that she have right now as I known her as a down to earth person with a very kind and gentle heart.

She shared a lot of stories and I was interested to listen and hear all of it. I went at their grand opening at the daytime and returned home at the night time. We talked a lot of things about her business and family life.

We used to call each other as Madam and until now that is how we call each other. But as you can see she is the real Madam as she have helpers and crew who are stationed in each of her branches.

I am happy to what she become and she is a good mother to her children. She is hardworking and workaholic.

On that meeting she treat me lunch and dinner afterwards. She never changed and she is still the same kind hearted friend I have ever known.

She welcomed me at their grand opening for their 9th chicken house branch and I celebrated with her success. She is very admirable.

Although her business is thriving, she always teach her children to stay humble and not become materialistic. She always remind them to live a simple life and she did not spoil her children.

The first 45 customers received a free softdrinks and others also got slices of the free taste product their delicious fried chicken.

The location of their 9th branch is really good as it is situated along the highway.

It is important to find a good area for your business as it is one of the factor to success.

All of their branches are situated along the highway so it made their business really fruitful and prosperous.

But one of the disadvantage for having many branches is that this friend of mine only has 4 hours straight of sleep as she need to sleep late and wake up early.

I advised her that she must have enough sleep at least 6 to 8 hours everyday.

I also reminded her that health is wealth, I also told her to get insurance policy.

When I shared about the advantage of insurance she suddenly felt asleep I understand that she is very tired and knowing her 4 hours sleep routine makes me feel worried about her.

When she woke up she told me that she will think about it.

I told her that she really need to get insurance for herself and her children for income protection and secure their future no matter what happens.

I noticed the slice of jackfruit placed on top of the fried chicken display so I asked what is it for then she said it is a lucky charm to attract customers especially on the opening day.

I have observed that businessmen and entrepreneurs have their own set of superstitious beliefs mostly from the Chinese.

Just like the date of opening or launching a business like 8, 18 or 28 as they said it is infinity number so as long as the date ends with number 8 it is a good date to consider.

I think there is nothing wrong with observing these superstitious beliefs and if they were used to following it then maybe they found it effective.

The influence of Chinese superstitious beliefs in businesses is common in the Philippines so it is not a surprise.

The only time that they close their business is during the Christmas day and New Year's day.
