How Internet Towers turned Our Unused Hillside Land into a Family Blessings

In my hometown where my parents still live and where I also grew up, there is a piece of land that we once thought has no value. It is on a hill, far from the main road and hard to plant on. Because of its location, it was left empty for many years. We could not grow much there, so we just let it be.

But today, that land has become one of the biggest blessings for our family. Since it is in a high area, it became a perfect spot for telecommunications companies to build their towers. The first one that was built was the Smart Tower, which became very helpful not just for our family but for the whole community who needed better signal and internet connection. After smart, the Globe tower was built and then more companies came to put up their own towers.

Right now, there are already about ten internet connection towers on our family’s land. And we are still waiting for the approval of DITO, which will also put a tower there if the plan is approved. When I think about it, I can’t help but feel thankful. The land we once thought was useless is now helping provide for our family in ways we never expected.

I want to share this story not to brag, but to inspire others. Many of us think that if a piece of land cannot be planted with rice, corn or any vegetables, then it is not worth keeping. But sometimes, God has a better plan for us. We just need to be patient and trust His timing. That piece of land that we once ignored has now turned into a steady source of income for my parents.

I am very proud and thankful for my parents. They worked very hard for us, their children, to make sure we had food on the table and a good life. Even now that they receive monthly income from the towers, they still choose to farm. They plant and sell vegetables because farming is what they love to do. It keeps them happy, healthy and grounded.

This land used to be just a grazing area for our animals, like my father’s carabao and goats. We never thought it would one day turn into something valuable and important for our family’s future.

This experience taught me an important lesson: Land is one of the best investments anyone can have. If you have a piece of land, do not give it up too quickly, even if it looks empty or useless today. You never know what opportunities might come in the future.
