Greetings ASEAN Hivers, @justinparke here with a challenge to test your photography skills, because this one is all about the bokeh effect.
Β Β Β Apologies for the late challenge, but life is hectic as my stepdad is still in the hospital after a heart attack. Better late than never though, and the main focus here is the bokeh effect, where parts or all of the image are blurred and/or out of focus. Ideally this is done in an artful manner and not simply an out of focus image, but at the end of the day all art is subjective.
Β Β Β If you have a traditional camera, you can achieve the bokeh effect with manual settings, and if you have a smartphone it can often be done with the portrait effect or other preloaded settings. The subject can be landscapes, cityscapes, a simple flower, animal, even a portrait of a person. With the right angle and lighting, bokeh often makes the subject of the image more eye-catching, and also adds some mystery and depth to the photos.
Β Β Β There were a lot of reds for this challenge, from old churches in old towns to tiny little tubes of lip balm. You ASEAN Hivers certainly found plenty red things to capture and share with us, and I thank you all for your participation. Please take a look at these three winning entries and support anything of interest to you.
Christ Church Melaka holds a deep historical significance in Melaka, Malaysia. Built in 1753, it is one of the oldest Protestant churches in the country and stands as a well-preserved symbol of Dutch colonial architecture. According to history, the Dutch constructed the church to commemorate the 100th anniversary of their conquest of Melaka from the Portuguese.
Hello, how are you? As I am writing this blog, I just thought, how I decided to choose "Red" is one of my favorite colors, as I remember my mom bought me this shirt, which is red with a word on it which I can't remember, but there's this one time I saw that red makes my skin look brighter. At that time color color analysis was not that famous, and as a kid, no one cared about that LOL.
Second week of class, my kids have no classes today and tomorrow. It was already said in our meeting in my previous post. Today is the feast day of San Juan Bautista. Every year some parts of our city cancelled the class and they made it a non-working holiday. I have a big love for red roses, not because my husband often gave me that when he was still courting me. For me, roses are the most serene I've ever seen.
