Greetings ASEAN Hivers, this week's challenge is focused on dumplings, whether fried, steamed, boiled, so grab your chopsticks and join us.
Dumplings can be found throughout Southeast Asia, whether it be the soon kueh of Singapore, siopao in the Philippines, Thailand's thung thong, of any of the other amazing dumplings available in Southeast Asia, please share them for this week's challenge. You can pinch, fold, or roll them, then boil, steam, or fry them, there are many ways to approach a dumpling.
You don't need to share a recipe, you can even just showcase some dumplings you bought on the roadside, but please share details like the name, ingredients, history, etc. Challenges like this one are fun for me because they showcase the different culinary and cultural historical influences of each location, and of course I'm a foodie too, so dumplings seem a fitting them for an ASEAN Hive challenge.
I should've known a moto challenge would be a hit in ASEAN Hive. There were several entries, all good reads and full of interesting motorbikes and destinations. We even got to see a proper dirtbike trip in the Philippines, something I don't see very often here in Cambodia. If you have the time, give all three winning posts a read, and consider supporting anything of interest.
When I was young, I often imagined myself being a cool person who knew how to drive a motorcycle. You know those action scenes where a woman was driving a motorcycle while wearing a very cool outfit, I want to be like that. That's how I always imagined myself back then. How the idea got into my head was also because of those Tagalog romance pocketbooks that I read, they are also packed with action - some of them, I mean. And that's why I really want that version of me. But then, I never really learned how to drive a motorcycle. Mom wants to teach me now so I can drive her new motorcycle, but I'm the one who's saying no.
Happy new week @asean.hive community a gloomy weather we have today. Honesty I have a stumbling stomach 😅 well it's already 9 in the morning Philippines time and still haven't eaten breakfast. Still on my in-laws house too, but what made me wrote is the time left before the community challenge end. Alright I heard a lot of shouting downstairs this is what I hate everytime we need to went in this place.
It had been a long time that I am working in this mountain. The road before was not yet completely concreted. When I was a new teacher, I paid 1000Ph for my trip to the mountain and going back home. That was the reason I was not going home and it based every end of the month. The place had no electricity and internet but now thanks God we have it all plus the concreted building and road. My sacrifices paid off and I bought motorcycle for my service trip to the mountain.
Delegators are valued members of our community, so each @asean.hive curation post (other than the main weekly delegator raffle post) features a mini delegator raffle in the footer, with the winner receiving 15% post beneficiary.
Thank youuuuuuuu ✨🤩. So siopao is in a dumpling category, I didn't really know coz I only eat foods without knowing what type of food it is. Hahaha.
Anyways Good Luck to those who'll join 💪💪
Haha, we have a version of them in Cambodia. It must be of Chinese origin.
I may actually be able to participate in this one if I can find the photos that I am thinking of. If not, i'll still support it!
Of course. Sorry I am still trying to get caught up in life and on Hive. I have been following your blog and your Mexican adventures, just not much time to interact lately.
Oooooo! Dumplings!!! Love them! Hope I'll be able to share an entry about dumplings too!!
Sorry for such late replies, life is crazy for several months already, but now I think of dumplings again as I catch up on replies.
Congratulations to all the winners on ASEAN Community Challenge #124 🥳🎉 Have a nice day for everyone.
Thanks for the show of support my friend
Respect to the winners for sharing with everyone the amazing technique of speeding through the small and big lanes or various jams of the motor bike with everyone's extraordinary skills. Along with a new initiative where you want to know about the history of a dumping food. Together we will strive to awaken the wonderful feeling that we hope for.
I hope our moto drivers weren't speeding, safety first always. Thanks for stopping by.
You are most Wellcome sir
Congrats for all the winners.
This week challenge is interested me, I wish I can join it asap.
