A Review of DemoniCore – A Delightful, but Imperfect Strategy Game. Just a Little Journey into the Depths of the Game

Honestly, i don't know if i've been avoiding trying this game because of the theme or for other reasons, but I finally gave it a chance and i have to say i'm pretty amazed. The game DemoniCore managed to surprise me in a pleasant way and i can say that it captured my attention to some extent - therefore i will continue to return to it.

In general, rarely does a game manage to provoke such a combination of curiosity, fascination and slight restraint as #DemoniCore does. With a theme that plays on the edge between the fantastic and the macabre, the title manages to create an interesting experience for players willing to venture into the depths of a supernatural world full of challenges. However, there are some aspects that could be rethought to provide a more balanced gaming experience.

A key element in character progression is the #DCORE token, used to advance from Circle 0 Initiate to Circle 1 Apprentice and above. In addition to this, DCORE is also used as a payment method to improve the player's core attributes. Players can spend it to increase their attack, defensive magic, speed, and faith, which adds an interesting strategic dimension. Also, if the Insanity level gets too high, players can spend a minimum of 75 $DCORE to remove a point of insanity, thus maintaining a balance between the character's strength and sanity.

Another aspect that could have been better explored is how this game would have suited itself as an interactive text-based game. Given its rich narrative structure and emphasis on strategy and multiple choices, a text-based system with deeper interaction options would have allowed for even greater immersion. For example, a game engine that allows for branching decisions and dynamic dialogues with demons could have added more depth.

Story - Theme - Gameplay & Mechanics

The world of DemoniCore draws inspiration from demonic mythology and occult symbolism, offering a fascinating reinterpretation of classic infernal hierarchies. Players take on the role of an initiate of Circle 0, a novice on the border between worlds, with a single goal: to become a Demon Master by conquering and controlling evil entities. That's about all i could understand so far.....maybe can be more than that

The nine Circles of Hell are more than just abstract settings - each comes with its own unique challenges, different enemies, and progressive rewards. The #game's narrative system is well thought out, but at times could benefit from more extensive development to give more weight to the players' choices.

One of the biggest surprises that #DemoniCore offers is its simplistic combat and progression system. Players can choose from three main combat styles: Physical Attack, Magic Use, and Guessing the Demon's Name.

One distinctive aspect is the use of the DCORE token. Not only does this serve as a method of progression through the Circles of Hell through staking, but it is also essential for upgrading abilities. Players must spend #DCORE to boost their attack power, defense, combat speed, and faith level, which in turn affects the effectiveness of spells and special abilities.

However, the „Insanity" mechanic can become frustrating at times, especially for players unfamiliar with such concepts. To manage this, players can spend a minimum of 75 #DCORE to remove a point of insanity, which creates an additional challenge related to resource balancing - at least that's what I'm seeing at the moment.

If it had been built as a text-based game, additional mechanics of more interactive dialogues with demons or the ability to use arguments to avoid fights could have added unexpected depth to the experience. Also, implementing morality-based choices, where players decide whether to ally with demons or destroy them, would have made DemoniCore a more personalized experience.

Visually, the interactive website manages to create a gothic atmosphere, however, one weak point of the game is the audio side. While the ambient music is suitable for the atmosphere, the sound effects are quite limited and their repetitiveness can diminish the immersion in the game. A greater diversity of audio effects could add an additional layer of realism and intensity.

Progression in DemoniCore is another strong point. Players must carefully manage their resources, choosing how to distribute their points between different attributes. However, balancing experience points can be quite expensive, making the necessary grind more tiring than challenging.

DCORE plays a central role in this process, offering an interesting method of progression based on staking. This mechanic is innovative, but could be better explained to make the game more accessible to newcomers.

In the end, i can easily say that it is an interesting and challenging game, which manages to offer a unique and fascinating experience. Although the sound effects are limited and the game mechanics are not necessarily intuitive, the game is definitely worth a try for those who are passionate about fantasy adventures and complex strategies.

I am curious to see how the game will evolve further and what other surprises the developer will offer us over time. If you have not tried DemoniCore yet, i recommend you give it a chance and let yourself be captivated by the fascinating world of demons and magic.
