Don't scatter your strength! [EN/PT]

Hello Splinters, welcome back!

There are many ways to structure strategies, and one I always like to mention in my Splinterlands posts is focusing your attack power on a specific point. Think about it: you have several attack options or possibilities, and you can direct those attacks at various points on your opponent’s side. Is it worth spreading those attacks out? Or is it better to find a strategy and put all your strength into one point, gradually eliminating the opposing monsters?

This reminds me a bit of the Pareto principle. It’s not exactly the same as focusing on the 20% that accounts for 80% of the impact, but consider this: if we focus all our resources on eliminating enemy monsters and our offensive power is efficient, we can take out one or two monsters per round. This would be highly efficient if our goal in the game, which leads to victory, is precisely to eliminate monsters to win!

So, instead of letting your monsters attack haphazardly, try focusing on an area of the field, even if it’s not exactly a specific position, like the tank or the back row. Sometimes, focusing on an area is also effective. You can focus solely on the tank, focus only on the non-melee monsters in the back row, target the weakest monster, or use Sneak. There’s a wide variety of options for this type of strategy, which is great, it breaks the predictability and makes everything even more interesting!

Well, the battle I’ve brought you today is a bit like that, and I explore the possibility of wiping out the enemy’s back row with monsters that have the Sneak and Opportunity abilities, along with an extra boost to the power of my melee monsters thanks to the Inspire ability on one of my monsters, which also acts as a “wildcard ability” when choosing this type of attack. On the other side, my opponent came up with a solid strategy using magic-attacking monsters, something I really dread, but my opponent made a serious mistake that you’ll find out about. Just keep reading this post!

For this battle, there’s a rule that, to be completely honest, I didn’t understand at all in terms of how it works or its impact. Even though it’s been present in other battles I’ve played, I just couldn’t figure it out, so if you know what it does, please leave a comment below. Well, the amount of mana was reasonable, and based on that, I already had a strategy in mind.

For the tank position, it’s a bit strange, a melee monster against one that doesn’t even have an attack. But I understood my opponent’s intention perfectly when he added this monster: he wanted to boost the power of his second monster, his true tank, once the monster in the first position died, since it had the Martyr ability. My tank is just a tank that boosts the attack power of the other monsters.

In the back row, I chose monsters primarily with the Sneak and Opportunity abilities that had low mana costs, and this strategy worked very well, since it allowed me to target where most of my opponent’s support and offensive power was concentrated, destabilizing his strategy, which was then focused on magic-attacking monsters.

It was a very interesting battle, as it taught me two things: First, no matter what, always have a way to deal with magic attacks, they can be brutal. And second, which was my opponent’s mistake, never, under any circumstances, give up on a defensive system, especially when your backline is fragile!

Well, that was today’s battle, and I hope you enjoyed it. See you next time!

Vale a pena dispersar esses ataques?
