Avatars & Exemplars: Come Explore the New Updates in Splinterlands
Hello summoners! I'm participating in the Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge and in this week's edition, I'll be talking about the newest Avatars and Exemplars system, which is now available to everyone. I invite you all to read my article, as I will explore in depth how any player can create and customize their own avatar. I will also give my thoughts on this important and incredible update to the Splinterlands universe.
One of the essential things that is quite common in Web2 games is the option to create your own Avatar. At first, it may seem "basic" or even "unimportant" to some people in terms of gameplay and setting, but for those who truly understand the importance of this tool, they know that this function gives you more identification and connects you more deeply to the game. Having your own character is like being transported into the digital world, and the immersion is indescribable.
In Splinterlands this is now a reality. It's not just a simple avatar creation; those who have already tried it know that we are dealing with something very detailed, with diverse options for colors, accessories, and appearances. The cool thing is that initially we can choose between 4 races: Humans, Dwarves, Elves, and Orcs. Since the implementation of races called Bloodline, the game has had much more acceptance and approval among the community.
I've mentioned here on several occasions how much I'm a fan of the Warcraft universe, and I was so happy that WoW had a strong influence and inspiration in this new phase of Splinterlands. As a fan of both games, I feel represented. Details that may go unnoticed by some can be noticed, such as the dwarf's beard. At the same time, I remembered Tolkien, because in addition to the dwarves, the female dwarves also had beards, and this demonstrates the fidelity that the SPL team has shown us.
🩸 Which Bloodline Will You Be?
As mentioned before, initially we have to choose which Bloodline you want. Basically, everyone starts as a human. If you don't want to change your race, that's fine, but as an example, I'll create my own avatar and of course I would choose to be an Orc. Notice the number of empty slots that can be filled with more races. I can't wait to see options like Ulund, Canisan, Drakoshan, and Avian in the future. It will undoubtedly be even more interesting.
When you get to your character creation page, we can edit our avatar, character sheet, and badges. If you explore your badge, you'll see where you've gone furthest in all the leagues related to Frontier, Modern, Wild, and also your highest champion score. You can also see the year you created your Splinterlands account. In my case, it's 2019, and you?
🎨 Creating Your Own Avatar
It's worth mentioning that if you're one of those who doesn't want to be too detailed with your character, there's the randomize option that will randomly choose your character in a specific style. But since that's not my case, let's continue in search of my perfect Orc.
There's the option to choose to be a male or female Orc. Let's explore what my evil and wicked Orc will look like.
One of the coolest things I found in this new update is the variety of colors and appearances we can have and create for our character. I confess I thought it would be quite limited, but it surprised me. Splinterlands made me spend a few minutes thinking about which color to choose for my Orc. Well, I decided on classic green, but know that there are 5 colors among green, white, black, red, and blue.
You can change:
Face: 5 options and 5 colors
Hair: 8 options and 8 colors
Eyebrows: 8 options
Eyes: 8 options and 4 colors
Nose: 8 options
Mouth: 8 options
For the hair, we can choose between 8 different colors, and you start to realize how easy and fun it is to create our avatar. The more specific details, the more personal your character becomes. In my case, I decided that my character will be an adult Orc.
Other Functions for Customize
For those who thought that was all there was to it, you're very wrong. After creating what could be called the first part, now we'll explore the Extras. Here we can choose from:
Earrings: 6 options
Scars: 5 options
Tattoos: 8 options
Accessories: 6 options and 4 colors
Here you can choose the type of background you'd like for your avatar. In my case, I'm going to choose this Death element background. I think it suits my avatar best. After you've finished and think you've done everything and that your avatar is perfect and unique, now confirm it.
⚔️ Exemplars: Create Your Own Collectible Card
Note that we start at level 1. To level up, we must spend Glints. Now this part is up to you. I've seen some players who are already at level 12 to 35. I myself will increase as I explore these new tools further.
One of the new features is that we can create our own card with our avatar. Yes, you read that right, our avatar can go into battle, which will initially be through challenges and tournaments (with their specific rules). But it will be very interesting and fun to see your creation in action.
We have the freedom to decide what this card will be like. Between attributes and abilities, you can choose and also improve. It's this kind of immersion that Splinterlands is raising the bar for in terms of what a Web3 game should be. It's literally you entering the battlefield, and that's definitely incredible. With 20 points, we can customize our card the way we want, and if you want to undo everything, it's still possible to revert to the previous state.

It's important to say that it won't stop here; many other features will still add more depth to our Avatar and especially to our Exemplar. Being able to fight battles with it will be a very interesting experience, and I'm eager to put mine into practice.

Uma das coisas essenciais que é bem comum existir em jogos Web2 é a opção de criar o seu próprio avatar. De início pode até parecer algo "básico" ou mesmo "sem muita importância" para algumas pessoas no que se refere a jogabilidade e ambientação, mas para quem realmente entende a importância dessa ferramenta, sabe que essa função te dá mais identificação e te conecta mais profundamente ao jogo. Ter seu próprio personagem é como se você fosse transportado para dentro do mundo digital e a imersão é indescritível.
Em Splinterlands agora isso é real. Não é apenas uma simples criação de avatar, para quem já experimentou, sabe que estamos diante de algo muito detalhado, com diversas opções entre cores, acessórios e aparências. O legal é que inicialmente podemos escolher entre 4 raças sendo Humanos, Anões, Elfos e Orcs. Desde a implementação de raças chamada de Linhagem de sangue em, o jogo teve muito mais aceitação e aprovação entre a comunidade.
Já contei aqui em algumas oportunidades o quanto sou fã do universo Warcraft e fiquei tão feliz que o WoW teve forte influência e inspiração nessa nova fase de Splinterlands. Como fã de ambos os jogos, me sinto representado. Detalhes que podem passar despercebidos por alguns, podem ser notados como a barba da anã. Na mesma hora lembrei de Tolkien, pois além dos anões, as anãs também eram barbudas e isso demonstra a fidelidade que a equipe SPL tem demonstrado para nós.
🩸 Qual Bloodline Você irá Ser?
Como foi dito anteriormente, inicialmente temos que escolher qual Bloodline você irá querer. Basicamente todos começamos como humanos, quem não quiser mudar sua raça, tudo bem, mas como exemplo eu irei criar o meu próprio avatar e lógico que eu escolheria ser um Orc. Perceba a quantidade de slots vagos que poderão ser preenchidos com mais raças. Mal posso esperar para ver opções como Ulund, Canisan, Drakoshan e Avian no futuro Sem dúvidas será ainda mais interessante.
Ao chegar na sua página de criação de personagens, nós podemos editar nosso avatar, exemplar e também badges. Inclusive se você for explorar o seu badge, saberá onde você mais chegou longe em todos as ligas no qual se refere ao Frontier, Modern, Wild e também saber a sua maior pontuação de campeão. Poderá ver também o ano que você criou sua conta em Splinterlands. No meu caso, sou de 2019, e você?
🎨 Criando seu Próprio Avatar
É bom mencionar que se você é daqueles que não quer ser bem detalhista em seu personagem, existe a opção randomize que de forma aleatória escolherá seu personagem em um tipo estilo específico. Mas como não é o meu caso, sigamos em busca do meu Orc perfeito.
Existe a opção de escolher ser um Orc macho ou fêmea. Vamos explorar como será o meu Orc mal e perverso.
Uma das coisas mais legais que achei nessa nova atualização, é a variedade de cores e aparências que podemos ter e fazer em nosso personagem. Confesso que achei que seria algo bem limitado, mas isso me surpreendeu. Splinterlands me fez ficar alguns minutos pensando em qual iria escolher a cor do meu Orc. Bem, decidi o verde clássico, mas saiba que existem 5 cores entre verde, branco, preto, vermelho e azul.
Você poderá mudar:
- Rosto: 5 opções e 5 cores
- Cabelo: 8 opções e 8 cores
- Sombrancelhas: 8 opções
- Olhos: 8 opções e 4 cores
- Nariz: 8 opções
- Boca: 8 opções
Para o cabelo, podemos escolher entre 8 cores diferentes e você começa a perceber o quão fácil e divertido podemos criar o nosso avatar. Quanto mais detalhes específicos, mais pessoal se torna o seu personagem. No meu caso, decidi que meu personagem será um Orc adulto.
Outras Funções Para Personalizar
Para quem imaginou que era apenas aquilo, está muito enganado. Após criarmos o que pode ser chamado de primeira parte, agora vamos explorar o Extras. Aqui podemos escolher entre:
- Brincos: 6 opções
- Cicatrizes: 5 opções
- Tatuagens: 8 opções
- Acessórios: 6 opções e 4 cores
Aqui você pode escolher o tipo de fundo que gostaria de deixar o seu avatar. No meu caso, vou escolher esse fundo do elemento Morte. Acho que combina mais com meu avatar.
Após finalizar e achar que terminou tudo e que seu avatar está perfeito e único, agora confirme.
⚔️ Exemplares: Crie a sua Própria Carta Colecionável
Perceba que começamos no level 1. Para poder subir, devemos gastar Glints. Agora essa parte fica ao seu critério. Já vi alguns jogadores que já estão no level 12 a 35. Eu mesmo irei aumentar conforme vou explorando ainda mais essas novas ferramentas.
Uma das novidades que vieram foi que podemos criar nossa própria carta com o nosso avatar. Sim, você leu bem, nosso avatar poderá ir para a batalha que inicialmente será através de desafios e torneios (com suas regras especificas). Mas será bem interessante e divertido ver sua criação em ação.
Temos a liberdade para decidir como será essa carta. Entre atributos e habilidades, você pode escolher e também aperfeiçoar. É esse tipo de imersão que Splinterlands está elevando o nível de como um jogo Web3 deve ser. É literalmente você entrando no campo de batalha e isso é definitivamente incrível. Com 20 pontos, podemos deixar nossa carta do jeito que a gente quer e caso você queira desfazer de tudo, ainda é possível voltar como antes.
Ainda existem outras coisas e você pode ver todos os detalhes clicando aqui. É importante dizer que não irá parar por aqui, muitas outras funcionalidades ainda irão dar mais profundidade ao nosso Avatar e principalmente em nosso Exemplar. Poder travar batalhas com ele será uma experiência bem interessante e estou ansioso para colocar o meu em pratica.
