Hello, Splinterlands warriors!
This season truly feels full of surprises. One by one, cards from the escalation series are starting to appear in the arena—and honestly… some of them are forcing me to rethink strategies that used to feel “safe.”
And among all those cards, there’s one that immediately caught my attention. Not just because of its appearance, but because of its presence on the battlefield: Blue Wyrm Travesty.
When I first saw this card, I literally paused for a moment.
“Wait… this is common?”
A 13 mana cost, but stats that look like a legendary monster in disguise.
At max level, Blue Wyrm Travesty has:
If I had to describe it, this isn’t just a fighter—it’s like a tank swinging a massive warhammer.
And right then, I knew: if this monster goes unchecked, it can wipe out an entire team on its own.

What makes Blue Wyrm Travesty even more interesting isn’t just its stats, but its abilities.
At level 3, it gains Slow, reducing all enemy monsters’ speed. This is huge, because in Splinterlands, who attacks first often determines the outcome.
At higher levels, it gets Invigorate, which prevents your team from suffering Exhaust. It’s rare, but incredibly impactful in long battles.
And of course, with that level of damage, it can function as a melee nuker tank—a tank that doesn’t just absorb hits, but destroys.
As I started to understand this card more, I realized something: Blue Wyrm Travesty isn’t meant to stand alone. It becomes far more dangerous with the right combos.

One combo I’ve seen (and plan to try) is with Wailworn Spectre.
This monster has Bloodline Tribute, meaning when it dies, Blue Wyrm gains additional stats.
Honestly, it feels like handing over a “legacy of power” to a monster that’s already strong from the start.

I also planning to pairing it with Doomshield Warden, which has Flank, and sometimes with Ulundin Overseer.
With Flank, Blue Wyrm becomes more flexible in positioning while staying effective in combat.
I once faced Blue Wyrm Travesty in a match—and honestly… it wasn’t a relaxing experience.
But somehow, with a bit of luck and the right positioning, I managed to win.
Even so, one thing was crystal clear:
Blue Wyrm Travesty was the main threat throughout the entire match.
I won—but it felt like finishing a marathon.
You can see the battle here:
From my experience and observations, this card becomes terrifying under certain rulesets:
In these scenarios, Blue Wyrm isn’t just strong—it can become the core of victory.
For me, Blue Wyrm Travesty is one of the most “troublesome” yet fascinating escalation cards.
If I ever get this card, here’s how I’d use it:
In short, Blue Wyrm Travesty isn’t just a powerful monster.
It’s the kind of card that, the moment it enters the arena…
makes everyone think:
“Alright… this match just got serious.”
