At the start of the week I was feeling unsettled, this has been going on for some time and I think one of the reason is related to my inactivity.
It has been a while since I’ve exercise(at home)or hit the gym.
I registered for the gym some days ago, and that was all I did - registered, without working out.
Tbh, I know this would happen. Because at the beggining of the year I made it a part of my new year resolution to get back to working out, which doesn’t only include physical fitness but also my overall well-being.
It goes in the order of — eat less, read more, and workout even more
However i’ve been unable to get myself to hit the gym for the past 10 months. I think my last time at the gym was around early 2022.
There are times I do a couple streches(but that was it) and tbh, it wasn’t helping that much with my physical health and I know that.
And I also know that hitting the gym where my reps and routine are monitored, was the only way to get back in shape.
Not that I look fat or out of shape(maybe I do now, but not so obvious)but for someone who has hit the gym several times before, I knew my energy level isn’t as it was while I was working out weekly.
However
I must be one of the biggest procrastinator to only register this week in November 2023. The year is almost done if not gone already. I made the new year resolution in January 2023. That’s around 10 months ago.
I know you’re thinking about yours too, but trust me we’ve all been there and it’s not something I’m proud of myself
But that’s going to change soon
So I said to myself, even if I won’t be hitting the gym five times a week, working out once a week won’t be such a bad idea, since I’ve procrastinated on it for so long.
I registered on Monday but sadly, i’ve not been able to find the time to hit the damn gym.
Tuesday came and went with not much to do, I was free but my fears of the unknown, won’t make me take the first step to lift my first weight in 2023.
Wednesday came, and I decide I’ll
have to face my fears today by heading over to the gym.
But unfortunately I just only recalled that I haven’t gotten some of the necessary kit. Like gloves and new shoes.
Looks like we’ve got another problem.
With that, Wednesday went without me working out nor was I able to work things out on Thursday too.
This was however due to financial reasons as it’s going to cost me a bit to get the gloves and shoes. The gloves isn’t even that important as the shoes. So I said to myself on Friday morning, we’ve got to get our shit together today mate.
Due to this I took a quick loan from a friend because I’m waiting on a fund on Saturday which was yesterday. He sent me the funds, and I immediately head out to get my stuffs.
But on getting to the market, things were costly as hell. Luckily I was still able to get myself something to not look like a total newbie in new shoes at the gym. That kinda flows, idk why I said that, but I had to just get the unfancy one to make it look like it’s not new.
I don’t want too much attention while working out. You see that’s even one of my procrastinating spirit talking.
“Just get the dam shoes man”(I said to myself).
On leaving the shoe store I got back home and went for the evening session.
Which I’ll tell you more about in my next post, my hands are still sore to type that much. But I got my first workout done and I’m excited that I’m now back to work.
Thanks for reading
Until next time
Man, what a rollercoaster ride. Haha. You really took your procrastination to new heights, but the best part of all this is that you finally got started hitting the gym.
That's a huge step forward. It's actually courageous of you to still get started with this when the year is already coming to an end. Someone else would have easily pushed it to next week. Haha.
Hope you continue the streak this week. Go for it, man đź’Ş
Smiles.
Tbh it’s fucked up. And at this point I should be given the procrastinator award of the year. Lol
But I’m glad I was able to put an end to the laziness inside me.
I sure will man keep up the pace man(going to be there in two hours time). Have a great day ahead man and thanks for checking by.
That's awesome. We've all got to do what we need to do. Haha.
I hope you smash those gym goals for whatever is left of this rough year.

This is a very honest report! For me the best method is to start small and add up. I can recommend the book "Atomic Habits" - it helped me a lot to start and be consisten. Maybe it will also change your life if you give it a chance.
Hmm, I’ve heard this book times without numbers, but I still procrastinate on buying it. I’ll have to get it this week now that you mentioned it. Something tells me I’m going to love it.
Thanks for the recommendation and comment. Have a great day ahead.
