# HiveLive is officially released !
I wanted to bring to everyone a simple and efficient service to integrate Hive and its blockchain to streamers (I love Twitch). After many efforts, I am very happy to show you the release of my project: HiveLive!
What is HiveLive ?
HiveLive is a web service for streamers. It is designed to allow streamers to receive donations in HIVE/HBD, but also HiveEngine tokens! Very easy to set up, all you need is a HIVE account and a streaming software.
Whatever the platform (Twitch, YoutubeLive, Facebook Live, Vimm, ...), you will be able to accept these donations very easily and quickly.
Moreover, it is Hive Keychain compatible, but if you or your viewers don't have Hive Keychain, it doesn't matter! You can still receive donations in HIVE/HBD, thanks to HiveSigner.
This project was born from the idea of a French streamer, @itharagaian, for whom I developed a donation bot for his ECU token. You can find more information about his stream and his project directly on his Discord server.
How to use ?
The procedure is very simple:
- Go to HiveLive
- Enter your HIVE account and click on "Generate Link"
- In your streaming software, add a "Browser Source" and paste the Software Link from HiveLive
- You also have a donation page (Donation Link) that you can put on your twitch page, on your social networks, ... wherever you want !
Free usage, donations and sponsoring
I absolutely want to keep this service free. I don't take any commission in order to allow a more massive and transparent use of this service.
However, this service costs me (development time, hosting fees, domain name, ...). That's why I need you. There are two ways to participate in the financing of the project:
- You will find on HiveLive a donation form to help me finance this project, but you can also up-vote my posts.
- You have a project on Hive or a community and want to have your logo and a link to your project? Come on my Discord server so we can discuss it. You'll get extra visibility and support HiveLive.
BONUS: Author Usage
Two HIVE members ( @pravesh0 and @mondoshawan ) have hijacked the usage to take only the Donation Link and put it in their HIVE profile as a website. This makes it much easier for the community to donate to them, regardless of the token used.

I do suggest you create a "HiveLive" community it would be a great way to combine all users from all streaming platforms that are also on Hive. We really need to support each other more on these other platforms and build a network effect to help hype this stuff up.

I started streaming on DLive while it was still on Steem and have been part of different streaming communities and have some groups of friends that stream and this is the kind of thing that can bring them here.
With the expertise of @wehmoen he was able to make a Twitch2Hive process where if you went live on Twitch it would post on Hive... We never moved forward with it but just an idea. I think there is a place for multiple platforms comong together though Hive to help support each other and help us to find other streamer's content we want to consume.
I would be honored to help work with you in any capacity I can to make this get more eyeballs on it.

Will this system's front/back end be made open source as well? If it was I think this would be a great project for the Hive DAO.
No at this time. i'll develop many features. But i can develop something for Hive DAO ? What do you think about ? If you have ideas, I'm in :)
Personally I think if this was open source then it's something the DAO should sponsor development for. It's a very useful tool that is needed for Hive streamers and other content creators that would make Hive even more useful. If we had DAO space in SPORTS I would even want to reward you for your dev work there as this would be perfect for a SPORTS content creator that livestreamed.
I do have lots of ideas since I've started to use it. The first is it needs some kind of backend setup for where content creators can restrict down what can cause the pop up for their individual link. This should be granular enough that it can look at only certain tokens the creator defines eg (Hive, HBD, LEO but not SPORTS) or that can look at market values of a token and allows the creator to set a POPUP Notification if over $.25. As it is now you could spam someone's stream by sending lots of no value tokens to the streamer so the popup gets queued.
It'd also be nice to allow the customization of the pop-up image that shows for each user when something goes off. I like the Hive image as a default but some streamers would want to customize it to their direct needs/themes.
I'd still encourage you to look at open sourcing the project though. I think that would be enough to warrant Hive stakeholders to look at sponsoring your dev work. That also doesn't mean you couldn't offer a commercial service still. I can think of a number of Hive streamers that don't have the technical expertise to deploy this as their own service but would happily pay a Hive or two a month to be able to have donations come in.
