Hey Splinterlands fam! 👋 Welcome to my blog.
The current season is wrapping up in just some hours, and I'm wrapping up my run at Gold in both Frontier Ranked and Modern Ranked. Huge shoutout to the quality cards I've owned and borrowed — they've been absolute clutch in getting me here.
FRONTIER RANKED WITH A TROPHY 🏆 COUNT OF 3300

MODERN RANKED WITH A TROPHY 🏆 COUNT OF 1960

Splinterlands is no walk in the park, but that's what amps up the excitement.A winning strategy weighs stats, abilities, rulesets, mana caps, and beyond. That's why you must factor them all into your deck building. Toss in strong cards to boost your setups, and push hard to rack up as many victories as possible! 🔥

Back to the main topic which is this featured card called Abyssal Elemental with its amazing abilities.
In my past post i have discussed the abyssal elemental extensively. But today I just want to share how strategy combined with abyssal elemental and its resurgence(rebirth) ability won these two games for me.
First Battle
Rules and line up

The total mana cost for this battle is 21 and with the following rules;
You can only summon units with even mana cost
All units have return fire ( 50% of ranged damage to attacker rounded up)
All units with a melee attack has sneak (Targets the last units in the last position)!
My Team (Water Magic Focus):
Opponent’s Team:
Round 1-Round 4,the summary of what transpired.
On paper, I was heavily disadvantaged. Eternal Tofu’s team-wide buffs made his monsters much tankier (+2 Health is huge in low mana), while Thorns punished melee attacks and Corrosive Ward melted armor on every melee hit. His setup was built to grind out long fights.
My strategy was simple but risky: lean hard into magic damage (which mostly bypasses physical Thorns) and use the Abyssal Elemental as a resilient tank that could come back stronger.
The Turning Point – Resurgence Changes Everything
The Abyssal Elemental performed exactly as I predicted .When it finally went down, Resurgence triggered:
It fully resurrected with 100% Health and full Armor
Cleared all magic debuffs and reapplied my +1 Magic buff from Marlai Singariel.Skipped its next turn
Dealt -1 physical damage to ALL units on the board (both sides)

Game Over.

WATCH BATTLE 1

Second Battle.
WATCH BATTLE 2
Same thing happened here, which was also resurgence

The rule here is to chose five units and the total battle cost was just 13.So small,I had to chose halfling refugee and abyssal elemental from the water element.
Round 1-Round 5

Game Over

My Verdict:
These battles proved once again that in Splinterlands, smart strategy and card synergy can beat raw stats and summoner buffs. The Abyssal Elemental’s Resurgence (plus the -1 splash damage) gave me the sustain and momentum I needed in the endgame. Even though I was down in effective tankiness and had to deal with heavy Thorns/Corrosive pressure on my melee pieces, the magic-focused grind paid off.
It really felt like a 3v3, once the Elemental came back to life.
Great lesson in adapting to the ruleset and trusting high-value abilities like Resurgence. 🔥
Thank you for reading and watching my post.
