Happy weekend, warriors! How is the grinding going? Win or lose, I learn from every battle.Welcome to my blog @zusi78.
Here’s what the Blood Moon arena looks like when it hits your queue:
As a new player, the first time I heard about Bloodlust was when I purchased a Gladius case. The word felt synonymous with the gladiators — it was their trademark ability. In these two battles,I want to share my first experience with the Blood Moon ruleset.Under Blood Moon, every unit on both sides starts the battle with the Bloodlust ability. That means any monster that scores a kill gets +1 to all stats (Attack, Health, Armor, Speed, etc.).Surviving units quickly stack buffs and turn into absolute beasts!
It was brutal — the snowball effect hit hard, just like you’d expect from gladiators, but this time it affected the entire battlefield. One early kill can completely flip the momentum, and indirect kills from Thorns, Blast, Poison, and more also trigger the stacking. I finally experienced it in both Frontier and Modern ranked after grinding since last year, and wow,it lives up to the mayhem! Happy reading and viewing.
Splinterlands is no walk in the park, but that's what amps up the excitement.A winning strategy weighs stats, abilities, rulesets, mana caps, and beyond. That's why you must factor them all into your deck building. Toss in strong cards to boost your setups, and push hard to rack up as many victories as possible! 🔥

Blood Moon ruleset (the modifier that gives Bloodlust to ALL units on both sides): This was officially added as a new ruleset in 2025 (exact date not pinpointed in the notes, but listed under the 2025 release notes). It is about 1 year old,not brand new, but not ancient either. 🤗 Like I said earlier,
once a unit lands its first kill, it starts stacking +1 to every stats (Attack, Health, Armor, Speed, etc.). A second kill makes it even stronger, and by the third or fourth, that one monster can feel like an absolute beast that’s hard to bring down. Surviving units quickly turn into monsters themselves, and the game can swing wildly depending on who gets the early kills.

Without further ado,Watch the two battles:

The ruleset is;
The blood moon and you can only summon units with ranged attack.
And you are to choose splinters from water earth, life and dragon elements and with a total mana cost of 43.
START
FINISH

You can clearly see the difference in statistics at the end of the battle,a good example is GRAMEL THE HUNGER,look at its attack stats, insane you would say.

WATCH BATTLE 2, FRONTIER RANKED

The ruleset is:
The blood moon and you cannot summon units with magic attacks.
And you are to choose splinters from fire, water, earth and dragon elements. And the total mana cost for this battle is 59.
START.
FINISH.

Why it feels so intense:
Blood Moon was added in late 2025 (around the Halloween period), but the Devs have kept its appearance rate very low, they even turned it off for a while and only brought it back in early 2026 with a very low chance of showing up.
