Hello, Splinterlands warriors! Welcome to my blog, @zusi78. How's the grinding going? Only 3 days left until the season ends. Always remember, there's another season to achieve your set goals.
Splinterlands is no walk in the park, but that's what amps up the excitement.A winning strategy weighs stats, abilities, rulesets, mana caps, and beyond. That's why you must factor them all into your deck building. Toss in strong cards to boost your setups, and push hard to rack up as many victories as possible! 🔥

Featured card today: Abyssal Elemental đź’¦. It's in damn near every water squad I run, ruleset vibes depending.

Abyssal Elemental is a powerful Epic Water splinter monster that costs 6 mana and is from the Conclave Arcana set in Splinterlands, prized for its magic attacks and its game‑changing Resurgence ability.
At:

It self-resurrects once per battle at 100% health and armor. Removes all magic debuffs, reapplies magic buffs, skips the next turn, and deals -1 physical damage to all units (friendly and enemy).
This is not the standard “Resurrect” ability (which revives allies with only 1 HP). Resurgence gives a full second life, essentially turning one 6-mana card into two full-health attackers.
Opponents often over-commit to killing it, only to watch it pop back up and finish them off.

Battle:
Ruleset,line up and plan

The total mana cost for this battle is 34,you can select splinters from the water, earth,life and dragon elements and the rules states;
As I gain experience from my battles, I love sharing some of the rules I've learned, maybe one or two people will pick up a tip or two from it.
This very rule is what the #splinterlands community called the Reverse Speed.
It reverses the normal speed order,so slowest monsters strike earliest and dodge more. This was the key rule that shaped the entire battle
My Exact Lineup
My summoner was MARLAI SINGARIEL for +1 magic to all friendly allied units,
Tank: Halfling Refugee (Weary)
Assist Tank: Abyssal Elemental ( Resurgence + Blast) THE GAME CHANGER,a 6-mana Epic Water magic attacker.
Resurgence: When killed, fully resurrects once per battle with 100% Health + full Armor (debuffs cleared, buffs reapplied).
Arachne Skinwalker (Shapeshift + Inspire)
Magic attacker with strong support kit.
Shapeshift: Adapts form/stats mid-battle for flexibility.
Inspire: Buffs nearby allies (extra attack/speed/health depending on level).
Captain Fellblade (Sneak)
Fast melee damage dealer.
Sneak: Ignores the front tank and targets the last enemy monster (backline assassin).
Tidal Tsunamist (Sneak)
Water melee finisher.
Sneak: Targets the weakest/last enemy.
Additional higher-level perks like Repair (armor restoration) and Fury for extra aggression in long fights.
My opponent summoner is Kaylia Silverleaf with a bloodline dominion. And his Deck is a solid mix of Weary, Corrosive Ward, Scavenger, Tank Heal, Thorns, and Close Range monsters. Looked strong on paper, until the rulesets and abilities hit.

Round 1
Reverse Speed flipped everything: slowest monsters acted first. My lower-speed magic and Sneak units got to strike before my opponent’s faster threats could react.Letting pure Blue magic + Water synergy shine. My Halfling Weary tank soaked hits while my opponent’s identical tank did the same. His Lurking Puffer’s Corrosive Ward started chipping my melee armor (Captain Fellblade & Tidal Tsunamist felt it), but my Abyssal Elemental (magic) completely ignored armor ,it blasted straight to health with +1 from Marlai Singariel and Blast splash hitting the clustered mid-line (Endless Ape + Glimmermancer).

My Opponent lost his tank game on

Round 2-3
Lost my tank, while Endless Ape was doing is Scarvenging

Round 2-3
Took out 3monsters with my sneak monsters highly responsible

Round 2-3

Round 2-3

Round 4
This Is The Turning Point: Abyssal Elemental got focused and “died”,then Resurgence triggered. Full-health, full-armor comeback with all buffs reapplied. It immediately resumed Blast magic damage, shredding the remaining Green lineup while my Sneak duo (Captain Fellblade + Tidal Tsunamist) cleaned up the backline. My Opponent’s numbers advantage (6 vs 5) evaporated instantly.

Round 6
Too late 4 against 1

Round 6
Game over
