Good morning warriors! This is @zusi78, I welcome you to my blog.
A few days ago I opened a Rebellion pack and pulled Ashveil Tactician.
Ashveil Tactician is a pure support/utility monster with no native attack — no melee, ranged, or magic of its own. What makes it interesting is Weapons Training. When you place a monster that has the Weapons Training ability next to it, Ashveil gains up to +3 attack of that monster’s attack type.Interesting you might say.
In this battle I decided to put the theory into practice. I placed Rage (which has Weapons Training and +4 Magic attack) right next to Ashveil Tactician,an ideal recipient and just like that, Ashveil picked up +3 Magic attack.
Splinterlands is no walk in the park, but that's what amps up the excitement.A winning strategy weighs stats, abilities, rulesets, mana caps, and beyond. That's why you must factor them all into your deck building.Toss in strong cards to boost your setups, and push hard to rack up as many victories as possible! 🔥
FEATURED CARD.
Ashveil Tactician is a Rare Fire-element Elf monster from the Escalation mini-set (part of the broader Rebellion-era content in Splinterlands).
At max level as shown above,it stats are:
Mana cost: 4
Attack: None (0)
Armor: 4
Health: 9
Speed: 5
Looking at its stats, Ashveil Tactician is relatively durable for a 4-mana non-attacker. With solid armor, decent health, and good speed, it can survive longer in the backline or mid positions.
Abilities:
It gains four abilities by max level (unlocking progressively by league/level thresholds):

From left to right, they are:
At level 2 (Bronze ), it gains Inspire ability.
Inspire: Grants +1 Melee power to all allied units. Strong synergy with melee-heavy or Sneak teams.
At level 4 ( Silver), it unlocks another ability called Pinpoint.
Pinpoint: Allied Sneak attacks cannot miss. Excellent enabler for Sneak-based strategies.
At level 6(Gold), it gainsMagic Reflect.
Magic Reflect: When hit by a magic attack, returns 50% of the damage (rounded up) to the attacker. Provides counter-pressure against magic lineups.
At max level ( Diamond-Champion),it unlocks its final ability called Shield Ward.
Shield Ward: At the start of battle, the unit in front of Ashveil Tactician gains Shield. Ideal when placed in position 2 to buff the frontline tank.
These abilities make it a versatile support piece focused on melee/Sneak amplification, magic retaliation, and frontline protection.
Market Value.
At the moment there is no full max to buy at the market for regular foil. But at level 1, is goes for $0.03. (131.32 DEC). And can be rented for 71DEC/DAY.
BATTLE:
The total mana cost of this battle was 51 and you are to choose splinters from fire and dragon elements only.
The rulesets are:
You can only summon amoured units.
Units and archons lose all abilities that restore health.
Though I won this battle,I just want to practicalized the Weapons Training. If you look at the lineup in this screenshot, you would see Rage behind Ashveil Tactician with zero attack.
After the activating tactics phase, you can clearly see Ashveil Tactician, now has +3 magic attack gained from Rage who has +4 magic attack with the Weapon training ability as well. This is the beauty about this game..
Game over.
Ashveil Tactician is an ideal recipient because it has zero native attack. Benefits include:
Gains an attack — It can receive up to 3 damage of the trainer’s attack type (Melee, Ranged, or Magic) from an adjacent Weapons Training card. This turns a pure support unit into a damage dealer while retaining all its support abilities (Inspire, Pinpoint, Magic Reflect, Shield Ward).
Positioning flexibility — You can place a Weapons Training unit on either (or both) sides. If the two trainers have different attack types, Ashveil can gain both; if the same type, it receives only the higher value (capped at 3).
In short, Ashveil Tactician is a high-value 4-mana support Elf that becomes significantly more threatening when paired with any adjacent Weapons Training unit, converting its defensive/support profile into a dual-role contributor without losing its core abilities. I am happy to have it in my deck collection.
