Hello fellow Splinterlands warriors! After the new season officially started, I am back here in the arena with some absolutely massive momentum. If you remember my last post, I realized my strategy was getting a bit too predictable because I kept spamming the exact same team. Well, lesson learned! This time, I have made changes again in the lineup. Even though I have used thalgrimore before but I didn't use a proper lineup. But this time, I hope it's better than the one I used last time.

Before we jump into the match details, let's talk about the daily routine. I spun the rewards wheel and I was bit sad because I have got only +50 Sparks alongside a neat +5 Bonus Sparks. It's okay, maybe next time I will get some more.

The Battle Conditions & Lineup Strategy

As you can see, I have got the chance to play 77 Mana Cap match! The ruleset was Standard, high-mana chaos where we could let our heaviest hitters run wild. Well, for the past few matches I was only getting the matches of 30 mana cap. So, I had to play a few more to get to high mana cap.

I completely abandoned Aurelia and locked in Thalgrimore as my summoner, because I want to make a good line up with it and learn to use it properly. To my surprise, my opponent had the exact same idea! We ended up in a mirror-match situation with both sides utilizing Thalgrimore. I put together a 50-mana squad out of the available 77, the reason for choosing those cards was because of their synergy together.

• Position 1: Nim Guard Captain (Lv. 1) – Main Melee frontline tank
• Position 2: Little Sister (Lv. 1) – Magic damage support
• Position 3: Sorrow Harvester (Lv. 1) – Bringing the crucial Weaken ability to further strip enemy health
• Position 4: Vengeful Monk (Lv. 1) – Reliable Melee mid-liner
• Position 5: Great Bear Druid (Lv. 1) – Hybrid Magic + Melee powerhouse
• Position 6: New Beluroc Aegis (Lv. 1) – Sturdy Melee anchor to guard our backline

The Clash: Breaking Down the Fight

When the battlefield loaded up in Round one, I saw my opponent had chosen few cards which did nothing in the whole match. Even though we both chose Thalgrimore, our teammates were different. Both of our debuffs canceled out any innate health advantages, putting the pressure entirely on card positioning and ability value. My Sorrow Harvester turned out to be the ultimate MVP here. The battle line held up beautifully. Nim Guard Captain in frontline absorbed incoming blows. To be honest he is one of my favourites now. By the end, all six of my cards were still standing and they wiped out the entire enemy team in just a few seconds. I was shocked because I thought they would at least take down few of my cards and last longer but their mistakes in choosing and positioning cards made them lose.

I think it's better to study a specific summoner when you're using it. Like the positioning and their powers, if you learn them then it becomes easier to defeat your opponent. Also, if you check what cards they have used previously that makes it even easier to place your own cards wisely. Anyway, I am glad that my strategy worked successfully. I'm planning to use this line up for a while because it has helped me a lot to gain more points in the league.

Victory and End-of-Match Rewards

The sweet taste of victory was made even better by the progressions! As you can see this match win pushed me right into Bronze II, locking in a solid +40 rating points to reach a flat 400 rating.

Heading over to the reward chests, I was prompted to consume a Legendary Potion to maximize my drop rates, I didn't know I had this. So, I decided to use it. I opened up my rewards and received a Mad Gearhead Goblin card, I already have it but I guess it will be beneficial in the future.

Stepping away from my comfort zone and testing out Thalgrimore proved exactly why it's necessary to step out of the box sometimes. I'm incredibly happy with the results, can't wait to push even higher up the Bronze tiers! I hope I can do that before the new season ends.
