Splinterlands: Pulled the third GOLD copy of the same CARD!🔥

I feel very excited about the process of maxing out the levels of my cards from the Gladius set; that is why, roughly once or twice every season, I purchase Gladius cases. Each pack contains five random Gladiator cards—with at least one being Rare or better—and there is even a chance of pulling a Gold card. Normally, I have the highest hopes of getting Gold cards from the Arcana set, yet I have never pulled a single one from there; however, I have already obtained several Gold cards from this Gladius Gladiator set. In fact, I had previously pulled the Water-element melee attack card "Alva the Crusher" in Gold foil twice, which I combined to create a Level 4 copy, and today I received yet another Gold copy of that same card.

Let me first give you some details about this purchase: today, I bought a total of four Gladius sets in one go. Since each set contained five copies, I was set to receive twenty copies in total. I needed 8,000 Merits for this purchase, but I was short by a little under 50; so, I burned the weakest card of this set from my deck to gather 200 Merits. Then, I spent the 8,000 Merits to buy the four packs and opened them all at once in the 'Well'.

I received a total of four rare cards from these four sets, just as the set details indicated. I quite liked all of them, except for the Earth element ranged attacker, 'Cutter Brieze.' While this card costs only one mana—making it usable in low-mana battles—its health is so low that surviving even a single enemy attack would be a feat. Undoubtedly, such low-cost cards are useful in low-mana battles, but they cannot be chosen blindly; even if the attack power is basic, a card's ability to defend itself for a round or two is a crucial factor. Additionally, looking at the screenshot above, I already have Katrelba Gobson, Chimney Wallstop, Bertrol Gobson, Witch of Warwick, and Alva the Crusher upgraded to Level 3, while Palidon Rakk is currently at Level 2; just five more copies will bring that card to Level 3 as well.

Among the cards shown in the screenshot above, the Death element melee monster 'Kotriphus Bayne' has been upgraded to Level 2, increasing its melee attack power from 2 to 3. Another melee attack card, 'Isgald Vorst' from the Water element, has also been upgraded to Level 3, raising its melee attack power from 2 to 3. Additionally, 'Ajax Lightfoot'—an excellent ranged attack card for Low Mana battles—has been upgraded to Level 2, gaining +1 Health; with just two more copies, it will reach Level 3, where its ranged attack power will improve from 2 to 3. Furthermore, this shopping session yielded a Gold card—specifically, another copy of the Water element melee card 'Alva the Crusher'. I already have this card upgraded to Level 4, and with this new Gold copy, I am now just two copies short of reaching Level 5—a milestone I hope to achieve soon. Overall, I am satisfied with these cards and am making steady progress toward upgrading this set to the maximum level.

Apart from that, another key card in this battle was the magic monster 'Forlorn Geomancer'. Although its low base speed makes it somewhat weak, its attacks usually take down any card in a maximum of two hits—and that is exactly what happened in this battle. Technically speaking, I had only two attacking cards; you could consider the frontline unit as one too, but it was eliminated without even launching an attack. So, in action, it was just two of my cards that crushed the enemy.

Splinterlands isn't an easy place, but that's what makes it even more fun. A perfect strategy takes into account many factors, including stats, abilities, rulesets, mana caps, and more. That's why it's even more important to consider all these factors when developing a strategy. Add good cards to your deck, but also work on improving your strategies, and strive to win as many battles as possible!🔥
