I think “just one more battle” is one of the biggest lies a Splinterlands player can tell themselves. 😂
You open the game and tell yourself:
“I’ll just play one battle.”
Simple.
Quick battle.
Then I’ll close the game and continue with whatever I was doing.
You build your lineup.
You enter the battle.
You win.
Now you are feeling good.
So you think:
“Okay, one more.”😂
The next battle starts.
This time you lose.
Now there is absolutely no way you are stopping there.
You can’t end on a loss.
So you tell yourself:
“Just one more so I can finish with a win.”
You play again.
You lose.
Now you’re annoyed.
But you’re also determined.
“Okay, that one doesn’t count.”
😂
Another battle.
This time you win.
Finally!
You have your victory.
You should stop now.
But then something dangerous happens.
You start thinking:
“I’m actually playing well today.”
So naturally…
one more battle. 😂
Before you know it, you’ve played several battles.
You don’t even remember when the original “one battle” became a full gaming session.
And the funniest part is how emotional one little battle can make you.
You can be completely relaxed before it starts.
Then your favorite card misses an attack.
Suddenly you’re questioning everything.
You start talking to the screen.
“Please hit!”
“Please survive!”
“Don’t do this!”
When the attack finally lands, you celebrate like you just won a tournament.
Then five minutes later, you’re doing the exact same thing again.
Another thing I’ve noticed is that losing makes me want to play more.
You lose and immediately start thinking about what you could have changed.
“Maybe I should have used a different tank.”
“Maybe I should have protected the backline.”
“Maybe that card wasn’t the right choice.”
So you enter another battle to test your theory.
Then another.
Then another.
And suddenly you are basically conducting scientific research on your own mistakes. 😂
But that’s what makes the game enjoyable.
Every battle feels like another opportunity to try something
Sometimes you discover a great combination.
Sometimes you discover a terrible combination.

And sometimes you discover that your original idea was actually fine and you simply overthought everything. 😂
The best part is when you finally get that perfect battle.
Your cards work together.
The positioning is right.
The attacks land.
Everything goes according to plan.
You sit there feeling like a tactical genius.
Then you look at the time.
And realize you were supposed to play one battle.
Splinterlands really knows how to turn a quick game into a whole adventure.
So if you ever tell yourself:
“Just one more battle.”
Don’t trust yourself.
You already know how this ends.
One battle becomes five.
Five becomes ten.
And somehow you’re still saying:
“Okay, last one.” 😂
