Splinterlands Day 11: The battle I thought I had already won

Day 11 of my Splinterlands journey, and today I learned another important lesson:

Never celebrate too early. šŸ˜‚

There are some battles where you look at your lineup and immediately feel confident.

You see your cards.

You see your opponent’s cards.

You check the mana.

You look at the ruleset.

Everything seems to make sense.

Then you start thinking about how quickly you are going to win.

That was exactly how I felt during one of my battles.

I looked at my lineup and thought, ā€œYeah, this should be easy.ā€

My team looked balanced. I had a solid card in the front, enough damage behind it, and a few abilities that I thought would give me an advantage.

The battle started, and things were going exactly as expected.

My team was attacking.

My opponent’s cards were disappearing.

My tank was still standing.

At this point, I was already mentally celebrating. šŸ˜‚

Then everything changed.

One of my important cards was taken out, and suddenly the battle started looking completely different.

The opponent’s remaining cards became much more dangerous, and my team started losing its advantage.

I went from:

ā€œEasy win.ā€

to:

ā€œWait… hold on.ā€ šŸ˜‚

That is one thing I really enjoy about Splinterlands. A battle can change very quickly.

You might think you have complete control, but one ability, one attack, or one surviving card can completely change the outcome.

It also reminded me why I need to pay attention until the very last round.

A battle is not won just because you are ahead at the beginning.

Anything can happen.

Sometimes the card you completely ignored becomes the reason you lose.

Sometimes your opponent’s weakest-looking card survives much longer than expected.

And sometimes your own team suddenly starts doing exactly what you hoped it would do.

The lesson for me is simple:

Never assume the battle is over until it is actually over.

I am also starting to appreciate how much strategy is involved in choosing a lineup.

It is not simply about picking the cards with the highest numbers.

You have to think about positioning, abilities, mana, speed, defense, and how your cards can work together.

And even after doing all that, you still have to deal with whatever your opponent decides to bring.

That uncertainty makes every battle interesting.

Day 11 has definitely reminded me that I still have a lot to learn.

But that is what makes the journey fun.

Every battle gives me another experience.

Every mistake gives me something to think about.

Every unexpected victory gives me more confidence.

And every painful loss gives me another reason to improve. šŸ˜‚

So I am going to keep experimenting with different lineups, keep testing cards, and most importantly, stop celebrating before the battle is finished.

Because in Splinterlands…

anything can happen. šŸ”„

Tomorrow, it is back to the battlefield again.

Let’s see what happens next.
