This week, we'll be covering two different topics in the Splinterlands Social Media Challenge. This event aims to encourage the Splinterlands community to share some of their findings, or memorable moments that occurred within the crypto card game's ecosystem. The idea is to share some interesting insights about the Frontier game mode with the community, which can help them plan a better future for the mode. Next, we'll discuss some of the choices made in the Glint Shop to utilize the Glint accumulated throughout the season, which ended up being used for Draws, Merits, and some chests. Frontier Mode Insights!
The insights we'll look at about Frontier Mode were provided by Mondroid, a longtime Splinterlands player. What sets him apart from other Splinterlands content creators is his unique analysis and strategies, including the creation of card combos within a lineup. Therefore, based on his track record as a top Splinterlands player, his analysis of the new Frontier mode is particularly relevant and worth checking out.
In X's post, Mondroid shares a message he sent in one of the Splinterlands chats, addressing some very valid points, even worth considering for other game modes. The first point he mentions is exactly what many noticed: the Frontier hype ended up being so great because the cards weren't soulbound that it attracted much more than just new players, but also several veterans of the game who ended up focusing on this new mode.
The first point that may explain this, according to Mondro, is that Frontier mode simplified the game, removing the game's overly powerful abilities and the issue of very high or very low speed from the equation. The reason for this point is that Frontier cards don't have great speed stats overall, and many of these cards don't even have an ability, keeping the game as simple as possible and shifting the focus back to strategy. This leads to point 2, which is to keep the game more balanced between players.
Another point that Mondroid mentioned, and which Bulldog continued, is the lack of soulbound cards. In the comments on the posts, you can see that many people enjoy having possession of the cards and having the choice of what to do with them, which is one of the essences of crypto games. One option raised by Bulldog was to return the cards without being soulbound and perhaps eliminate token rewards, allowing the community itself to determine the value of the cards through supply and demand.
On the one hand, this would eliminate this relatively constant SPS gain, which may end up displeasing some players. On the other hand, it could end up boosting the card-based aspect of the game and attracting more of the other audience, who see Splinterlands as fun and want to constantly improve their cards and build an ever-growing collection. Some people have commented that they find this approach more interesting, while others would prefer some kind of token as a reward for matches.
Finally, in response to Bulldog's post, Mondroid made a post about the Glint Shop that might be quite interesting. He suggested adding more non-soulbound rewards to the Glint Shop and making them tradable. I believe this would give players even more incentive to increase the amount of Glint they earn per match and season.

Os insights que vamos observar do Frontier Mode foram feitos pelo Mondroid, um dos jogadores bem experientes do Splinterlands, que faz conteúdo sobre o jogo há muito tempo. O seu diferencial, quando comparado à outros criadores de conteúdo do Splinterlands, são suas analises e estratégias únicas, com a realização da montagem de alguns combos de cartas dentro de uma lineup. Assim, com base no seu histórico, como um grande jogador de Splinterlands, sua análise do novo modo Frontier tem uma certa relevância e vale a observação.
No post do X o Mondroid compartilha uma mensagem que ele mandou em um dos chats do Splinterlands, abordando alguns pontos que são bem válidos, até mesmo para serem analisados para os demais modos de jogo. O primeiro ponto que ele comenta é justamente o que muitos perceberam, o hype do Frontier acabou sendo tão grande por conta das cartas não serem soulbound que atraiu muito mais do que os jogadores iniciantes, mas diversos veteranos do jogo que acabaram focando nesse novo modo.
O primeiro ponto que pode explicar isso, de acordo com o Mondro, é que o modo Frontier simplificou o jogo, retirando da equação as habilidades muito fortes do jogo e também a questão da velocidade muito alta ou muito baixa. O motivo desse ponto é que as cartas Frontier não tem grandes status de velocidade no geral, e ainda, diversas dessas cartas nem chegam a possuir uma habilidade, mantendo o jogo o mais simples possível, e fazendo o foco voltar para a estratégia. Isso entra no ponto 2, que é manter o jogo mais balanceado entre os jogadores.
Outro ponto que o Mondroid chegou a comentar, e que o Bulldog continou é com relação as cartas não serem soulbound. Nos comentários dos posts você consegue observar que diversas pessoas gostam de ter a posse das cartas e ter a escolha do que fazer com elas, sendo essa uma das essências dos jogos crypto. Uma opção levantada pelo Bulldog foi a de voltar com as cartas sem ser soulbound e talvez eliminar as recompensas em tokens, fazendo com que a própria comunidade determine o valor das cartas através da oferta e demanda.
Por um lado isso acabaria com esse ganho relativamente constante de SPS, o que pode acabar desagradando parte dos jogadores, mas por outro lado pode acabar impulsionando o lado de cartas do jogo e atraindo mais o outro público, que busca o Splinterlands como diversão e quer sempre melhorar suas cartas e ter uma coleção cada vez maior. Algumas pessoas comentaram que acham essa abordagem mais interessante, enquanto outras ainda preferiam algum tipo de token como recompensa das partidas.
Por fim, em resposta ao post do Bulldog, teve um completo feito pelo Mondroid que pode ser bem interessante sobre o Glint Shop. Ele sugeriu que fossem adicionados mais recompensas não soulbound dentro do Glint Shop e que fossem comercializáveis. Acredito que isso faria com que os jogadores tivessem ainda mais incentivos para aumentar a quantidade de Glint que ganham por partida e season.
