Pictured above is a screenshot from TribalDex that displays the top 10 traded tokens on the TribalDex platform. The tokens are listed by the USD worth of their 24hr trade volume. First on that list is NEX which is distributed by @nexatrust . NEX has a 24hr trade volume worth $2,069 USD. Each NEX token is valued at $0.21312 USD per token. Coming in second and third for highest sales volume are two Splinterland tokens. The first being SPS which is the Splinterlands governance token. As of 2026-06-09 SPS has a current 24hr trade volume of $481 USD. Each SPS token is worth $0.00314 USD. DEC is ranking third with a total of $374 USD in trade volume within the TribalDex ecosystem. DEC is currently being traded at $0.00025 per DEC. There are many other tokens offered for trade on TriabalDex. Tokens such as community tokens to SWAP tokens for well known cryptocurrencies like DOGE can be found. Out of all these tokens DEC is the one that stands out for me. At its current trade value DEC can be purchased at $0.25/1000 DEC. Why is that a standout? Those who frequent the Splinterlands game will likely know already but if you aren't such a person the reasoning is this ---> DEC is accepted at $1/1000 DEC by the Splinterlands company when purchasing game assets directly from them (such as card packs). The current $0.25/1000 DEC trade value presents a massive discount for anyone who plans on purchasing Splinterlands packs directly from the Splinterlands company. Instead of purchasing directly using fiat one could use ones fiat to purchase DEC from TribalDex and have 4X the buying power for the same cost as a direct fiat purchase will yield. All this talk about Splinterlands token gave me a hankering for some battling but upon going to the the Splinterlands site it looks like they are in maintenance mode for the time being. Nothing to be alarmed about, they do these and also announce plenty of time before hand when doing so. However even within the maintenance mode there is a game to play. Do you see that little icon that says FIGHT that is showcased in the above screenshot? Sure you do - if you go to the Splinterlands site when its in maintenance mode you will be able to play 1v1 sword battle. It's simplistic yet addicting. How quick can you smash a button - how is your timing with swinging a sword. Head to Splinterlands before maintenance mode finishes to find out. Check out the screenshots below for images of the sword battle game. You have to click the space-bar to start the battle.

It was surprisingly hard to capture that screenshot. If you don't battle back the NPC sword will give you a quick whooping. I vote we should have that little game displayed somewhere on the Splinterlands site. Have something like an arcade style play list showing the top players who managed to get through the highest amount of wins before crumbling to defeat. Heck use it as small DEC sink for 10 DEC a try. There's an idea --- take all the Arcadecolony games and use them as DEC sinks. Want to race for glory -- 10 DEC a race -- DEC is burned. Not everything needs a return. Stuff can be just for fun. If things pick up again at least the foot is in the door with the games or versions of the games already in-play. That suggestion was just off the cuff. I have no clue if its a good idea or not. I simply would prefer seeing games being available than not. Which got me thinking of Soulkeep. So much potential - Soulkeep. I remember when the game was first made available to play. There was humans of varying ages within the @rentmoney household at the time and regardless of age they loved playing the Soulkeep game. Not only did they love playing Soulkeep but they asked for it by name. Some of the fun was playing a game not many have before but a large portion of that fun was the game itself. Could Soulkeep be the sleeping giant that infuses new players into the Splinterlands ecosystem? I don't know but it couldn't hurt to give it a shot. Alternate between introducing new card sets (year 1: new card set for Splinterlands) year two (new card set for Soulkeep). This will shrink the card inflation for the OG Splinterlands game. That's it for now. This post was created off the cuff. I had no intention of making suggestions for this post. I simply click the post option and typed the random thoughts that came to mind. Thanks for visiting the @rentmoney blog -> you are appreciated.

Claim: Buying DEC on TribalDex currently provides 4x the buying power for Splinterlands game assets because the market price is $0.25/1000 DEC while the game accepts it at a value of $1/1000 DEC.

Why it matters: This post identifies a significant market inefficiency where players can save 75% on in-game purchases by leveraging secondary markets. It also proposes economic solutions for token inflation, such as burning DEC through arcade-style mini-games and rotating card sets between Splinterlands and Soulkeep."
