Good morning everyone, it's a Thursday today and it's my regular day off and I like to start my day with an hour of Splinterlands battles and one or two coffee's š and while I was at it, I just played this battle which was funny for me but I guess my opponent might not share my opinion... š
It's always satisfying to beat the big Archons like Lorkus and Tofu, or win against a much higher level player but and the battle for this post was a perfect example what happens if you trust too much on the power of one team and strategy.
But first, how is your season going? I had a rough start again - I always feel like a noob in the first week and then for some reason the tide changes and I can win a lot more. This week I even made it into Diamond 2, which is pretty awesome with a Silver level deck, of course I need more staked SPS to play at this level so I delegated a little bit more towards my Modern account from my botted main account and the rewards up here are pretty sweet, it brings back the earnings I had when I was still playing my max level Chaos Legion deck in Modern but that feels like ages ago already, I didn't think I would ever see high rewards like these again so I will just enjoy while it lasts.
My Diamond 2 league promotion reward was a really sweet one!

A Gold Foil Legendary Halo Wisp! It's funny because a couple of weeks ago I pulled exactly the same card in Gold Foil, so now I have two for sale. š On my main account, the bot pulled two Nullwroughts a while back, it were two separate rewards so it's kinda strange I'm pulling doubles on these cards, while getting Gold Foil Legendary's is pretty rare for me, I think it happens once or twice a year per account.

My opponent was spamming Tofu pretty hard, and although it was a low mana battle with only 18 mana available, I gambled on the fact they would go with tofu again and rely on the power of Thorns and the extra Health Points so I got an evil idea... why not give this kitty cat a taste of it's own medicine and welcome it with Thorns, backed up by healer.
Since I was able to level up Sira so she would get the Shield Ward ability, my strategy got more versatile because now I can either use Sira or the Virid Venomancer to give the Quilliun Legionary the Shield ability so now it's protected against all attacks with both the Shield as well as the Void ability.

My opponent fell for my trap with eyes open by using a lot of melee units and the ranged units don't do any damage with only 1 attack power, so it's looking good!
By the end of round 2, the enemy tank was killed by the Health Points on my tank were going down really fast even with it's protection, hopefully my healer can keep up with this and it's also why I like to use Corrupted Healing instead of the normal Tank Healing because it heals back to full health minus 1 max health every time it heals, which is totally fine for me, the normal healing only heals 1/3, rounded up.

By the end of round 3, Venka was the only unit that was doing damage to my tank so at this point it was looking good again!
By round 5 Venka was the only unit left but had gathered a lot of HP with Tofu's Scavenge ability...
But by round 6, Venka killed itself against the Thorns. š
