My New Acquisition in Splinterlands

One of my strategies for Splinterlands is to build a collection of cards so I don't have to rent them on the market, allowing me to improve my in-game earnings while waiting for a bull market.

I'm playing in the Wild format, so I don't need to limit myself to only owning cards from the Rebellion and Arcane Conclave editions. I like cards from older editions, especially Untamed.

In this post, I'll talk about my new acquisition in Splinterlands, Lorna Shine, an Archon from the Life Deck.

This is Lorna Shine, and she an Archon I've always admired for two reasons:

• Lorna Shine costs little mana.

• Lorna Shine grants the Divine Shield ability to allied monsters.

In Splinterlands, battles with low mana are very common, so having Archons that cost little mana is essential for use in these battles.

Ignores all damage once, after which the Divine Shield is destroyed.

The Divine Shield is a very useful defensive ability in battles, better than the common armor that cards possess.

To get the summoner card Lorna Shine, I can open Azmare Dice packs or buy it directly from the market.

Azmare Dice is a Mini Set from the Untamed edition and its price is currently $2.95 in Splinterlands.

Each Azmare Dice gives the player 5 cards, with at least 1 card of rare rarity or higher.

This Mini Set has 25 cards and all rare rarity cards are Archons, so the chance of getting Lorna Shine isn't low, but I prefer to buy the cards directly from the market.

The lowest price for Archon Lorna Shine is currently $0.32 on the market; in the past, this value was much higher, so this is a great time to buy cards in Splinterlands.

This is not an investment tip.

My goal is to buy assets in Splinterlands with the earnings I make in the game, so I will only buy 1 Lorna Shine card and soon I will buy more to evolve her to the maximum level.

Rare cards in Splinterlands have 8 levels, and to reach the maximum level of Lorna Shine, you need 115 Lorna Shine cards.

To use higher-level monsters in battle, I need to evolve Archon first, so this is a priority, and for now, I will rent Lorna Shine at a higher level for my current battles, until my Lorna Shine reaches the maximum level.

Another detail I like about Lorna Shine is her design; it's very simple compared to the more recent cards, but I like her design.
