Splinterlands | Upgrading Foundation cards and Strengthening my Arsenal
Hello Splinterlands fam!
I hope you all are having a fresh and awesome weekend with your family and friends. Even for us splinterlands players, this weekend has gladly come with less pressure for ourselves, because if you are playing in the ongoing ranked season, there are still around 8 days and 8 hours left for this season to meet its end. So, with plenty of time left in hand, I think you can manage some time to enjoy the weekend without losing your grip on the game. But if you are still far away from your season goal, whether it is to reach a certain league tier or to claim and defend a spot in the champion top leaderboard, you should not waste much time and rather focus on your battles while maintaining the battle energy mana bar. Because, well, if you are a dedicated player, you don't want to miss those lucrative rewards from daily and season-end at all. On the other hand, while Hive price isn't showing any growth for a while now and is still stuck around 0.20$ per unit, surprisingly SPS is showing some strength lately and from its all-time low value, it has gone up a bit and is now trading for 0.00811$ per SPS. So, congratulations to all who either bought or earned a bunch of SPS during the low time and held it all.
Now moving on, I am sure that many of you splinterlands players are already playing the new Frontier mode and gladly, I am also one of them who is dedicatedly playing this brand new gameplay mode literally every day and enjoying the thrill while earning cool foundation edition cards. For those who still don't know, team Splinterlands has recently launched a brand new gameplay mode named Frontier mode, which is a completely free-to-play mode that doesn't require any form of investment to play this mode. This new mode can only be played with Foundation edition cards, which you can simply acquire by playing the Campaign mode and then the Frontier mode. The best part of this gameplay mode is that though it is completely free to play, the foundation cards that you win by completing missions can be sold in the market earning you money in form of crypto token DEC. yes you heard it right, the more you play this game mode and finish those daily reward missions and reach higher league tiers, the more cards you will receive as rewards, which you can exchange for money.. and all of it for completely free. Now, as expected, this new game mode is spreading like wildfire, not only among the existing players but it is attracting new players as well. In my opinion, splinterlands has created an amazing mode that will help it gain new players from Web2 without any hassle. Because those new players can easily get into the game and start playing without investing any money beforehand, which breaks the initial entry barrier.
Now, talking about my own performance, as I have shared in my previous posts, I am so focused on this mode right now. I am dedicatedly to playing it on a daily basis and trying to finish the 3 daily rewards missions every day. I have already made a decent amount of Foundation cards in my collection and have gladly been able to upgrade some of them already. I have been playing for the last 4 seasons in this mode and while I started from the Bronze III league tier just like everyone else, I have managed to climb up the trophy ladder and just recently, I have reached the Silver II league tier, as you can see from the screenshot that I shared above. Now, while playing in the Bronze III league tier initially, I used to get only 1 card and 1 frontier entry per daily reward claim. But gladly, after reaching the Silver league, I am now earning 3 cards and 2 frontier entries per reward, which is definitely boosting my card acquisition rate. As a result, I am getting more cards now and upgrading them one by one at a much faster rate.
Now, after reaching the Silver II league tier, I was rewarded with a total of 15 reward cheats - 10 minor and 5 major chests. I was really happy to be rewarded with so many reward chests and without wasting any more time, I immediately opened them all and have shared the outcome in the screenshot above. As you can see, I was really lucky to receive another bundle of 3 rare and 4 common cards, 5 battle energies and 7 alchemy potions and luckily, one of those cards was the Death Archon card, which I was eagerly waiting for, as I needed only one more Death Archon card to upgrade mine to level 2.
Anyway, I was very happy with the outcome and afterwards, I quickly went to check my foundation card collection to see if I had enough cards to upgrade to the next level. Now, I was collecting the foundation edition cards, but didn't check my collection for a while. So when after claiming the league tier reward chests, when I finally went to check them, I was really Surprised to see I had already gotten enough BCX cards to upgrade not one or 2, but a whopping 12 cards to their next level. As you can see from the screenshot above, I have 10 cards there, of which I have enough BCX cards to upgrade them all to level and apart from them, I also upgraded the Death archon Thalgrimore to level 2, which has now become my second level 2 archon after the Fire one.
Now, all these 11 cards that I showed above are upgraded to level 2, but the last card that I upgraded is not level 2, but level 3! Yes, I was really shocked to see I have collected enough Twice Yester Knight monster cards to upgrade this monster to level 3. So without wasting even one more second, I quickly upgraded all of them one by one immediately and now eagerly waiting to show off my upgraded monsters in the battlefield, what about you?
