Splinterlands Swampwrought | A Flying Magic Monster with Defensive Stats

Kaylia Silverleaf.jpg

Hello my fellow Splinterlands Warriors,

Welcome back to another fresh and juicy Splinterlands post, and I hope all of you are doing pretty great in your lives and enjoying a calm and beautiful day with your family and friends. If you are also engaging with this game on a daily basis just like me, then I hope your ranked battles are going smoothly so far, and that you are gradually climbing the trophy ladder while moving towards your goal and, of course, collecting plenty of valuable rewards along the way. Looking at the ongoing season's clock, the current ranked season still has around 10 days and 23 hours remaining before it comes to an end, which means there is still plenty of time left to continue grinding battles and work toward those trophy goals. So whether you are trying to reach a particular league tier, increase your season rewards, or make a serious leaderboard push, I wish all of you the very best for the remaining days of the season.

Now, talking about my own progress in the Frontier mode, I am currently battling in the highest Gold I league with 2,940 trophies. As usual, my first objective is to reach the 4,200 trophy milestone, and after reaching that point, I will try to continue my push toward the leaderboard. There is still plenty of time remaining in the season, so hopefully, I can steadily increase my trophy count over the coming days. Looking at the weekly raffle progress, I currently have 30 raffle entries collected. There are around 3 days and 22 hours remaining before the raffle ends, and this time I am once again aiming to collect somewhere between 54 and 57 entries.

Today's Frontier Daily Wheel brought another nice reward for my Sparks collection. I received 1,000 Sparks along with another 250 bonus Sparks, thanks to my current Tier IV streak bonus. Today also marks my 94th consecutive daily streak, and after collecting today's reward, my total Sparks balance has reached 24,309. I am happy to see the balance growing steadily again, especially with the 25% bonus Sparks helping me collect more every day.

Apart from that, today I also opened all 3 Foundation Packs that I earned only from today's rewards. It was a small pack opening, but I still managed to pull 1 Legendary card and another 3 Rare cards, while the remaining cards were Common cards, so I am quite happy with today's opening.

Swampwrought

Now moving on to today's featured monster, let us take a closer look at another interesting monster from the newest Conclave Arcana Reward card set. As you have already seen in the title and thumbnail above, today we will be discussing Swampwrought. So, if you are interested in knowing more about this card, then let's take a deep dive without further ado.

Swampwrought is a monster type card that was first seen in the game with the launch of the newest Conclave Arcana Reward card set. This monster belongs to the Earth element and comes from the Elemental bloodline. It is a Rare monster card, so it would require a total of 115 cc cards to be upgraded to max level. Swampwrought costs only 5 mana to deploy, so you can easily select it when playing low to medium mana limit matches. It uses Magic attacks, allowing it to deal direct damage to enemy Health and at maximum level, this monster possesses three different abilities. Let us now take a closer look at its stats and abilities across different leagues.

BRONZE

At Level 2, Swampwrought possesses 1 Magic attack, 2 Speed, 2 Armor, and 4 Health. Even at its initial level, it already gains two useful abilities called Flying and Camouflage, making it a surprisingly defensive monster from the beginning.

image.png

FLYING – Has a +25% chance to evade physical attacks. This has no effect if the attacker also has Flying, and the monster is immune to Earthquake.

image.png

CAMOUFLAGE – Cannot be directly targeted unless in the first position. It does not prevent indirect attacks such as Scattershot, Blast splash damage, Trample, or Wingbreak.

SILVER

At Level 4, Swampwrought improves to 2 Magic attack while maintaining 2 Speed and 2 Armor, with its Health increasing to 5. Although it does not gain a new ability at this level, the additional Magic attack makes it a more threatening attacker while its existing Flying and Camouflage abilities continue helping it stay protected in the backline.

GOLD

At Level 6, Swampwrought improves further to 3 Magic attack while maintaining 2 Speed, 2 Armor, and 5 Health. Although there is no new ability unlocked at this stage, the increased Magic damage makes this monster considerably more dangerous for only a 5 mana cost.

DIAMOND / CHAMPION

At Level 8, Swampwrought reaches its maximum form with 3 Magic attack, 2 Speed, 2 Armor, and 6 Health. At maximum level, it unlocks its final ability called Slow, which reduces the Speed of every enemy unit.

SLOW – Reduces the Speed of all enemy units by 1.

I think Swampwrought is a very pretty and useful Rare monster, especially considering that it costs only 5 mana. First of all, its combination of Armor and Health already gives it a decent amount of defensive strength, while its Magic attack can directly damage enemy Health. At higher levels, reaching 3 Magic attack for only 5 mana makes it an even more attractive option for different battle situations.

The Flying ability adds another layer of protection by giving it a better chance to evade physical attacks. If the enemy attacker does not have Flying, Swampwrought gets an additional 25% chance to dodge that attack. It is also immune to Earthquake, making it particularly useful in battles with that ruleset.

Then we have Camouflage, which is another important defensive ability. Unless Swampwrought is placed in the first position, enemy monsters cannot directly target it. However, indirect damage such as Scattershot and Blast can still affect it, so Camouflage does not make it completely untouchable.

Finally, the Slow ability adds useful control over the enemy lineup by reducing the Speed of every enemy monster by 1. This can give your own monsters an important advantage during battle, especially when you are using faster attackers. Making the enemy lineup slower can increase your chances of attacking first and can also make some of their attacks easier to avoid.

Overall, I think Swampwrought is a very useful 5-mana Magic monster with a good mixture of attack power, defensive statistics and useful abilities. Flying gives it a chance to dodge physical attacks and protects it from Earthquake, while Camouflage makes it difficult for enemies to target directly from the backline. At maximum level, Slow can also affect the entire enemy team and provide an advantage to your own lineup. So, if you are looking for a relatively low-cost Magic attacker that can survive longer while also providing some useful battlefield control, I think Swampwrought is definitely a monster worth experimenting with.

I hope you enjoyed reading my post about SWAMPWROUGHT. Let me know your thoughts about today's post in the comments section below, and I look forward to seeing you all in my next post.

Hello @mango-juice
Swampwrought is a really interesting low-mana card. I like how Flying + Camouflage gives it strong defensive value while Magic keeps the damage consistent. The Slow ability at max level makes it even more useful for controlling the whole enemy lineup.
Great breakdown
