Splinterlands | Reached Highest Gold I league tier in Frontier mode & Purchased some Foundation cards

I hope you all are doing well in life and guess you all have enjoyed the weekend at its best. Now for my fellow splinterlands warriors, you mist have have noticed that the ranked season has already ended some time ago and as usual, a fresh new season has started, loaded with thrill and rewards. I hope all of you who actively played in the last ranked season have collected your season end glint rewards. Now, taking a peak at the current season’s clock, we have enough time, a whole 15 days, so be wise to set your goals for this fresh season, whether you set to enter a certain league tier or fight for a place among the glorious top champion leaderboard. I wish all of you best of luck and remember, though it seems we have infinite time to reach an easy goal, some unexpected challenges may sometimes delays our plan. So, it would be wise to play on a daily basis and maintain a healthy battle energy bar throughout the season to maximise your SPS and other rewards earning.

Talking about Frontier mode, I guess many of you are already playing this newest gameplay mode in splinterlands that is completely free-to-play and rewarding as well. As shared in my previous posts, I have been playing this mode for quite a while and have participated in last 7 Frontier draws straight, with decent entries and no reward so far. I haven’t invested any money so far in this mode to buy foundation edition cards, up until this season, where I actually bought the Epic type Water element card Saltwater Mage, my first purchased foundation card. But I have not thought even for a little bit, that it would change my luck so quickly afterwards. Because soon after buying the card, I found another missing legendary, the GIam Root from Earth element. And then, I somehow played and reached the top league tier, Gold I this season. Not only that, but I even made it to the Frontier leaderboard, which I didnt even know existed and earned myself 4 Frontier packs and 15 Frontier entries, which I have shared in the screenshot above. I was very happy with my achievement and the rewards I received, so I decided finally to invest some bucks into frontier and buy some missing cards.

The frontier mode is a completely free-to-play mode and till this season, I have played this mode for free and came from Bronze to Fold league only using cards I won simply by playing this mode. I playing this mode for around 2 months now and so far, I was still missing a handful of legendary and epic cards in my collection and some more cards to upgrade 2 of my archons to level 2. So, first I decided to buy the Saltwater Mage epic water card and then, I purchased a bunch of more cards and finally completed the collection and also upgraded all archons to level 2. Now, as I have already reached and playing at Gold I league tier, if I can hold my position, I can earn 2 or 3 foundation packs daily. So, undoubtedly, my foundation card capture rate will increase a lot from here, not to forget the possibility of winning more bonus packs from Frontier leaderboard.

Now, coming forward to the next topic of this post, let me now share the cards that I bought one after another and also share why I chose them and how I expect them to help me on the battlefield. So, if you are excited, leg’s take a dive without any further ado.

SUPER ATTACKER - SALTWATER MAGE

As I shared above, the first card that I bought was the Saltwater Mage, a Magic thrower Epic type card that belongs to the Water element. The best feature of this card is its sneak attack and coupled with 2 magic attack power, it really becomes impossible for low health monsters to withstand its attack for long. When you use this monster with the foundation water archon Marlai Singariel, it’s magic attack increases to 3, which becomes deadly even to those large health monsters.

The lowest amount to buy one BCX of this card in the market was 0.55$ that time, which is justified because this card is very rare to get. Anyway, I bought the first one available, a one BCX of this monster card for 0.55$ for hsing the monstermarket, I received 18.308 DEC as cash-back in my hive-engine account, as shared in the screenshots above.

MISSING ARCHONS - MARLAI SINGARIEL and INCESSANT SAGE

After completing the frontier season and reaching Gold I, as I finally decided to buy some foundation cards, the first choices were to buy and upgrsde both the Life and Water archons to level 2, and I required to buy only 1 BCX of both cards to upgrade them. So, as my next purchase, I bought both of them from monstermarket.io. As many of my Life and Water element unit cards are already upgraded, upgrading these 2 archons will benefit me instantly and I am already experiencing that in battlefield with more and easier wins.

For the purchase, first the Marlai Singariel costed me 0.19$ only and in the other hand, the Incessant Sage was asking for a cheap rate of 0.126$ per BCX. Both of these deals were looking decent, so I made the purchase without thinking much. I purchased 1 BCX of each of these archon cards together, which costed me total 463.615 DEC and for cash-back, I received 11.127 DEC straight in my hive-engine wallet.

A’LAN MUSKETEER

The next monster that I purchased was the Alan Musketeer and for those of you who are already playing the Frontier mode, you know how much important this card is in this mode. This is a large 8 mana monster card, that belongs to the Neutral element and by rarity, it is a legendary type card. The best feature of this card is its double strike ability, that become very useful sometimes, like when magic attacks gets blocked with void ability. Now, the lowest price of this card in the marketplace was a whopping amount of 0.813$, and it is normal if you ask me. Because of its legendary rarity, this card is even more rare to get than the Mage. Anyway, for my next purchase, I didn't think much of it and quickly purchased the first one and moved onto my next card.

AGNIAVAN SALAMANDER

This is also a legendary card that at least in my case, it is really a tough monster to get your hands on. This card belongs to the Fire element and costs costs a whopping 8 mana to be used in battles. The attack type of this monster is ranged and the best feature of this card is its Blast ability, which no other foundation card possesses at this moment. Anyway, during my purchase, the lowest rate on which this card was listed for sale in the market was 0.228$ and the price looks cheap to me. So I quickly bought the card without any second thought.

LENORE NEVERMORE

The next card that I bought is the Lenore from Death element. It is an Epic type card that costs 6 mana to be used in battles. The attack type of this card is ranged and I was lacking this card and stopped waiting finally. I bought the lowest BCX listed in the market for 0.219$ only and considering its rarity, I think I got this one for cheap as well.
