It’s been a few hours since the release of the latest “Conflict” card from the “Escalation” mini-set was announced, and I have to say I’m surprised by the level of detail that went into this card, as well as the way it’s played and the tactics involved. I think this is the first time we’ve had a card in the game—since “Tactics” were introduced—that features three Tactics. So, you can imagine how valuable this card could be on the market, since, yes, it’s another “Archon” and has exceptional stats that will undoubtedly make this card highly sought-after and in high demand.
Of course, as usual, I’m going to explain how this card works, what makes it different, its tactics, some monsters that might be compatible with it, the synergies, and some rules you can take advantage of to get the most out of it—since I don’t think it’s a common card; after all, this is the first time we’ve seen three tactics, from which you can, of course, choose one, however, its adaptability is incredible—and it was, of course, the best in the entire game even before its release.
So if you want to know how this card called “Oblivion” works, how to play it, its stats, and more details, you have to read until the end, because the truth is that it’s very interesting, and of course you won’t want to miss this “Conflict”—especially since it will be the last one.

Okay, I'll try to get to the point in this post, but first we'll look at her stats, since without them we wouldn't be able to estimate her effectiveness on the battlefield or figure out how to play her to get the most out of her, so let's get started:

Rarity: This card, like the rest of the conflicts, is “Legendary” rarity. This is to be expected, since all of them have been this rarity—at least the cards released via “Airdrop.”
Splinter/Element: This belongs to the strongest Splinter in the game—the “Dragon” Splinter—so it can be combined with any other element, maximizing its versatility and usefulness on the battlefield.
Mana Cost: It has a mana cost of +3, which is incredible—and I think this is only the second time this has happened, where we have a Legendary “Summoner/Archon” from the Dragon Splinter. I say “second” because one of the first Legendary summoners with a mana cost of 3 was “Selenia Sky.”
Bloodline: Its bloodline is “Fiend,” so regardless of which Splinter the card belongs to, as long as its bloodline is “Fiend,” you can play it, which exponentially increases its versatility and/or usability in the game.

The first thing we need to learn here is their “Mechanics.” Although I’ve already explained this briefly, I’ll go into a little more detail about how they work. Their mechanics are actually very straightforward, since they revolve around their “Bloodline,” but pay close attention—for those of you who find it a bit tricky to handle this type of summoner, this will help you fully understand how it works:
"Cross-Elemental Fiends" Summon: As I explained earlier, regardless of the element or Splinter to which it belongs, if a card is from the “Fiend” faction, you can play it without any problem. Therefore, in addition to combining it with any Splinter, you can select cards that normally pair very well with its own bloodline.
Deck Flexibility: The great thing about this card in particular is that the combinations you can create are practically endless. This means that your opponent can’t really know how you’ll play, since—because you can combine it with any card—it’s impossible to predict what kind of combination you’ll make, something that generally doesn’t happen with other types of “Archons” tied to specific elements.

This is where the post gets interesting because “Tactics” are practically the strong point of this type of summoner—also known as “Archons”—since this is where our playstyle originates and where we make decisions before the battle begins and choose which “Tactic” to use, That’s why I’ll explain the three tactics one by one so you can understand how to use them:

Direct Effect: Grants the Sneak ability to two monsters in your lineup—you choose which ones, of course—so this choice is important because it could be an offensive opportunity your opponent isn’t expecting.
Battle Behavior: Directs all physical, ranged, or magic attacks from those two cards toward the unit in the last position of the opponent’s team. It’s simple but very effective; however, you must know when and how to use it because it’s very easy to counter.
Strategic Use: Transforms two frontline or ranged attack cards into rear-guard assassins, allowing you to destroy the opponent’s “Support” cards with abilities (Tank Heal, Triage) or strategic supports that the opponent has protected at the back of their deck.

Direct Effect: Grants the Apex Strike ability to two of your attacking monsters.
Battle Behavior: Apex Strike causes those units’ attacks to automatically target the enemy unit with the highest attack power on the enemy side, so you should use it when you want to focus your attack on your opponent’s strongest unit because you believe it poses a threat.
Strategic Use: It allows you to launch a targeted assault, since, instead of chipping away at the armor of your opponent’s main tank, your two strongest attackers will coordinate their fire directly against your opponent’s primary “offensive” unit.

Direct Effect: Immediately applies the Halving effect to two enemy units at the start of combat, permanently reducing their attack power to 50%—quite useful if you notice that your opponent has two very strong “Offense” cards.
Mechanics Clarification: Do not grant this ability to your own cards to reduce your own attack to 50%; instead, the idea is to directly weaken your opponent’s two targets from the very first second of battle. An enemy monster with 5 attack will have 2 attack before landing its first hit.
Strategic Use: This is the perfect way to counter high-damage tanks by neutralizing your opponent’s burst potential before they can damage your front line.

Since this post has gotten quite long, I’ll leave it at that for now. However, I’ll continue this post by discussing the most attractive synergies and modifiers for playing this card and increasing our chances of winning many battles. For now, though, this post gives us a very basic understanding of how the card works and why I say it’s so special and one-of-a-kind.
If you have any questions about how to play the card or these details, please comment—though, as I mentioned, I’ll be writing a follow-up post.
