Lately, I’ve been posting content to help new users—especially the kind of posts I wish I’d had when I first started playing the game. But that’s what I’m here for: to help those new users who need a step-by-step guide to get started. Of course, some of the more savvy players won’t need it, because I know there are different types of players—some are a bit more curious than others—but there are also those players who know absolutely nothing, so the idea is to guide these users so they can build their account in the best way possible and with as few mistakes as possible.
That’s why I’m creating this kind of content, and this time, I want to share a post where I’ll focus on showing you the ideal deck for your player profile. By that, I mean the player who has a lot of money or substantial capital and wants to start off really strong, or the player who has moderate capital—not a lot, but not too little either, and wants to get started; and of course, the one most people have asked for—those who have little to no capital and want to start with a decent deck they can use in battle.
So, if you want to learn everything there is to know about the different types of decks in the game, feel free to follow along with me in this post. But more importantly, you should READ it all the way through, since this information isn’t published on “Hive,” so I hope you’ll find it useful.

Before diving into card decks and the various existing editions, we first need to understand the game’s “Formats.” This is important because for newer players who don’t know anything about the game, it’s crucial that they understand this, since it forms the basis of gameplay—it’s in these formats where you earn rewards for winning battles, specifically SPS and GLINT. That’s why, before anything else, I’ll give you a brief explanation of the game’s formats:
Currently, there are two main formats, which are:
Modern Format: You could say this is the format where you earn the most rewards, since only human players and real, manual battles are allowed—in other words, bots aren’t permitted. Plus, you can use the two most recent expansions for the entire game and their added sets: I’m referring to “Rebellion” and “Conclave Arcana.” You might think it’s simpler, but the battles are fierce—you need experience, or they’ll tear you to pieces.
Wild Format: This is the oldest format of the game; in fact, it all started here. However, in this format, all editions are allowed—basically “Alpha, Beta, Untamed, and Chaos Legion”—in addition to all the sets related to these editions. The key difference is that bots and all types of players are accepted here, so the rewards are much smaller in that regard.

Now, I imagine some of you are wondering, “Why does the edition matter?” Well, choosing the right edition determines where you can play, how much you’ll earn in rewards, and, of course, how much the value of your collection will increase in the long run. So before you choose a deck, you need to decide which format to play, because that’s where the deck-building process begins.

In this section, you'll see the available editions based on the formats I mentioned earlier. With this information, you'll be able to choose the type of deck you want, so without further ado, here's the information:

Rebellion (2023): This is one of the most powerful editions ever created in the game's history, as it introduced one of the strongest mechanics: the famous "Summoner Tactics," a gameplay style where you can choose between 1 and 3 units to grant them special abilities that can influence the battle even before it begins.
Conclave Arcana (2025): This is the latest edition of the game; its cards are extremely powerful, and the new mechanic it introduces is also very powerful, as it offers almost infinite versatility thanks to “Bloodlines”—which are essentially the cards’ lineages—allowing you to play cards of different elements as long as they belong to the same lineage.

Alpha and Beta (2018-2019): The Alpha edition is the original edition—the foundation upon which the game was built. It’s essentially the oldest and most exclusive version of the game, and the value of these cards is incalculable, at least from my perspective. On the other hand, there’s the “Beta” edition, which consists of essentially the same cards as the “Alpha” edition but with a different design; however, it’s the edition that introduced the neutral element. It’s undoubtedly very powerful and, of course, also one of the cornerstones of the collection.
Untamed (2018-2019): This is one of the best vintage sets ever released; the cards in this set are incredibly powerful, and it also introduced the "Legendary" summoners—the strongest of them all, at least up to that point. It is undoubtedly a very successful set.
Chaos Legion (2022): This is a controversial set—and one of the strongest as well—since its cards are extremely powerful and useful. In my opinion, they’re excellent cards. Plus, it’s the cheapest set in the entire game; in fact, a complete set can cost less than $200. Despite being one of the best sets, it was this set that, financially speaking, had many flaws, which is why its cards are so undervalued.

With all this information, you now have everything you need to know about the different editions and decks available, as well as the formats in which these editions are played; however, I didn’t cover the costs. But I promise that in a future post, I’ll focus solely on the costs of all the editions, thereby completing this series with a second part.
This way, you'll have all the information you need to get started and figure out right away how much you might want to invest in the game. If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment on this post.
