Greetings Splinterlovers 💚

Many new players avoid the Wild format because they fear facing only old cards and that the rewards are generally lower than, for example, in the "Modern Format"; However, in 2026, the reality is different, because thanks to the last two editions, Rebellion and Conclave Arcana, you can dominate this format by combining the new with the old, the best of both worlds.

Now, in this post, I want to educate you, because if there's one thing that characterizes Splinterlands, it's that there are many ways to speed up your progress in the game, and one of those ways is in the "Wild Format." so here I will explain how to conquer this format or game mode and why this could also be your best opportunity to move up the leagues quickly. I think you will be interested in this, because the higher you climb in the leagues, the greater the rewards you can earn.

So, this post won't be too long to avoid boring you, but it will contain valuable information if you want to find alternatives that allow you to play, have fun, and earn rewards at the best possible cost, since these formats require investment.

Why play Wild in 2026?

Unlike the Modern format, where the range of cards is limited, in Wild you can use all editions released to date, which are: (Alpha, Beta, Untamed, Chaos Legion, Rebellion, and Conclave Arcana). Of course, all these SETS have mini editions or other types of cards with the same frame, so yes, the range of options is quite large, which makes it relatively more complicated to make a game decision, since there are many cards, hundreds of them, and many possible scenarios. For some, this will be an advantage, for others not so much, as they always prefer to use the same combinations, but it really depends on each player.

Even so, I will explain some aspects so that you can understand why we should play in this format:

Things to consider when playing in Salvaje

  • Less saturation: Although there are very strong players, there is less "copy and paste" of strategies. This means that creativity is rewarded more here; of course, this is for those who love challenges and enjoy difficulty and thinking; I, for example, am one of them.

  • Smart rentals: Many older cards are inexpensive to rent because players are distracted by the new releases in Modern, which makes the barrier to entry much more accessible than in other game modes. So yes, you don't need to have hundreds or thousands of dollars to get a truly competitive deck in Wild. However, you do need to be consistent and have more advanced experience.

  • Stable rewards: Wild's reward pool tends to be more predictable if you know how to manage your wins, so streaks are very important here in order to earn the most SPS and GLINT in the process.

⁣The Technology of 2026 Applied to the Old Ways

The key to winning in "Wild" is not to have the oldest cards, but to use and/or combine new abilities to boost the stats of the most classic cards in the game. This is what really enhances gameplay, since by combining, for example, "Summoner Tactics" or "Bloodlines," you can create strategies that you could never use in the "Modern" format. Also, as I said before, creativity in Wild is really rewarded, and it's where you can use all your knowledge of the game to truly stand out and learn at the same time.

Now, to really see the scope of this, let's take a look at what the power of this combination would look like below:

The Power of Bloodlines (Bloodline Dominion)

In 2026, Archons, formerly known as Summoners, allow combinations that were previously impossible in the "Wild" format. This means that now, regardless of your card's element, you can play with these new Archons that summon the so-called "Bloodlines" and combine with different races if the element is not the same. I think I've explained myself clearly; for example, if your card belongs to the following lineages (Dwarves, Elves, Orcs), you can play them, even if they are not from the same "Splinter."

  • Strategy: Use a summoner that can be played in Modern to combine it with the "Orcs" lineage and, in turn, with some cards from the Untamed edition that are from the same lineage. This will give your cards extra power that your opponent usually doesn't expect, especially in the "wild format."

  • Invigorate: This is currently the best solution in the game for combating fatigue; what's more, it's great in this format, since in Wild, battles tend to last many turns due to the high health and armor of older cards, not to mention the large number of possible combinations. On the other hand, the Invigorate ability (Fatigue Immunity) is your best friend, as it allows you to win attrition battles against decks that rely on running out of time to win.

⁣Things to consider if you want to pursue the "Wild Format"

Here in this section, I will quickly show you all the aspects you need to consider when playing in "Wild Format." So, if you want to move up the league quickly, the idea is to look for some new or old cards that have what I will discuss shortly. On the other hand, I will also show you how to optimize your investment:

  • Reflexes: This ability is ideal against decks that focus on ranged attacks (Range), which are very common in the "Wild" format, as the idea is to evade massive attacks and thus protect your team.

  • Pinpoint: In the wild format, there are many cards with evasion, so dodging is commonplace, and with this ability, you can avoid it regardless of speed and other factors.

  • Bloodlust: For me, it's one of the most broken abilities in the entire game and one that never goes out of style, so combining it with these new mechanics right now in 2026 is crazy.

  • Specialize in a Splinter: In the wild format, you can specialize in one or more elements, but focusing on one can make you a pro, so this can solve the problem of the number of existing cards.

  • Soulbound Cards 2026: Focus on collecting your GLINTS and completing the "Arcana Conclave" reward set, which is simply insane, as it contains very powerful cards.

  • Analyze rentals: If you don't have a lot of capital, look for cards from editions such as "Chaos Legion," which are really inexpensive, but that doesn't mean they're bad cards. On the contrary, they're very good.

Conclusion

I hope that all this information will help you, if you don't have many options, referring to capital, to keep in mind the "Wild" format, which, yes, is not the best currently, but it is one of the most versatile in terms of gameplay, as well as being quite affordable.
