Greetings SplinterLovers 💙

In Splinterlands, we often build strategies based strictly on abilities, but there's something special when cards resonate with each other on a thematic level. In the case of the Water element, the reward cards from the Arcane Conclave set gave us a trio of melee attack units that are as powerful as they are diverse: Surgeblade, Surgehammer, and Coralforged.

The bond that unites these cards, or rather, the "family" connection, is very clear in the first two: Surgeblade (wielded by Nahla Oshannus) and Surgehammer (wielded by Bahri Oshannus). Not only do they share the word "Surge" in their names and the Djinn bloodline, but their story describes them fighting together as brother and sister. This pair of Djinn warriors is joined by Coralforged, the armored elemental card, which completes the trio. Djinn** bloodline, but their story describes them fighting together as brother and sister. This pair of Djinn warriors is joined by Coralforged, the armored elemental card, which completes the vanguard in the "Water Splinter."

So, with that clear, I will analyze how this trio works together to dominate the battlefield and also, for the first time, at least in my experience and playing time, we will see how the concept of "Family" is present in Splinterlands.

Roles and Abilities of the "Aquatic Trio"

These three units, two of which are common and one rare, belong to the Arcane Conclave reward edition under "Water Splinter." They are cards that cover essential roles for a Melee strategy, with some of the following characteristics: frontal attack and defense (Tank), making them a flexible offensive force, and one of them being a front-line support. But enough rambling, I'll explain what these three wonders can offer us:

1. Surgeblade (Common, Djinn)

Surgeblade It is a Common card from the "Water Splinter" deck with a mana cost of 5. It has an aggressive offensive approach and the ability to eliminate enemies adjacent to its attack target.

  • Aggression and Flexibility: At maximum level (Level 10), he has 4 points of melee damage, 5 points of shield, and 4 points of health. Furthermore, from Level 1, he has the Charge ability, which allows him to use melee attacks regardless of his position on the battlefield, which is an incredible option given his damage power.

  • Countercamouflage: One of its most strategic abilities is Reveal, which it acquires at Level 3, disabling an enemy unit's Camouflage ability per round. so our card is the main enemy of "Offensive/Support" cards that hide in the shadows and can be an untouchable nuisance only until they are in the 1st position.

  • Collateral Damage: At Level 10, add the ability called Blast, which deals 50% additional damage (rounded up) to units adjacent to the original attack target.

2. Surgehammer (Rare, Djinn)

Surgehammer It is a "Rare" card that shares the Djinn lineage and costs 6 mana points. It is also a "Djinn" warrior that specializes in hitting weak targets while repairing and maintaining the health of the front line (Tank), making this card a powerful ally capable of tracking down those annoying enemy "Support" cards while protecting its allies at the same time.

  • Opportunistic Offensive: From Level 1, it has the Opportunity ability, attacking the enemy unit with the lowest health on the enemy side of the field. It also starts with Flying, which gives it a 25% chance to evade physical attacks and makes it immune to rules such as Earthquake, which are quite dangerous for most cards.

  • Healing and Cleansing: Its support value is quite high, as at Level 4, it acquires the ability called Cleanse, which removes all negative magical effects from any allied card in the first position. Furthermore, upon reaching Level 8, it gains another incredible support ability called Repair, restoring 2 armor to the allied unit with the most damage to its shield during battle.

With 3 points of melee damage, 3 points of shield, 7 points of health, and 4 points of speed at maximum level, Surgehammer is extremely versatile thanks to its combination of attack and team support abilities. In addition, both Surge (Djinn) cards are considered good options to combine with the "Archon" Elias Max Pruitt.

3. Coralforged (Common, Elemental)

Coralforged It is a "Common" rarity unit belonging to the "Water Splinter" with a powerful "Melee" attack and a high mana cost of 8. In addition, its "Bloodline" is Elemental, and its role is very clear: to be a resistant frontline tank with overwhelming power at the same time.

  • Reinforced Defense: At maximum level (Level 10), it has 4 attack points, 4 armor points, and 9 health points. In addition, its defensive abilities include Shield at Level 10, which reduces damage from physical attacks by 50% (or 0 damage if the attack is power 1). It also has Dodge at Level 7, which increases its chance of evading physical and ranged attacks, which is very useful for increasing its defense.

  • Positional Support: His Flank ability, which is active from Level 1, is crucial for stronger offensive power, since if he is in the first position, he grants Reach to the second Melee unit in the second position.

Finally, Coralforged works as an excellent tank in battles with little or no magic damage, and like Djinn, it can be used with Elias Max Pruitt to maximize its effectiveness.

Conclusion

While Surgeblade and Surgehammer are the real "family" by lineage (Djinn) and history (brothers), Coralforged completes the team, providing the muscle and armor necessary to make the "Water Splinter" melee attack strategy viable in an aggressive combination with support included.

We can see this trio as an aquatic assault team: Coralforged is the coral wall that absorbs the impact and anchors the line, allowing Surgeblade (the aggressive sister) to launch the offensive from anywhere and break through enemy camouflage, while Surgehammer (the support brother) flies over the field, eliminating weakened enemies and using his magic hammer to heal his allies' armor and remove the negative effects suffered by Coralforged in the front line. Together, these three characters offer a complete solution for melee battles in the Water element.

With nothing further to add, until next time, "Splinterlords."

I invite everyone to join Splinterlands, the best game based on chains of blocks, full of adventures, battles, and strategies where you will have fun and get rewards according to your league
