Greetings Splinterlovers 💚

In the previous post, I talked in detail about "Doldrus," its stats, abilities, and how it could be played in certain battle scenarios, naming and/or explaining its synergies. This information is vital to understanding how the game works, since gameplay in "Splinterlands" is dictated by three fundamental aspects, which are:

  • The cards: Without them, we won't be able to play.
  • Understanding skills: Extremely important, as they give rise to rules or modifiers.
  • Learning the rules: One of the most important aspects of the game, as it is through these rules that strategies are devised.

Knowing this puts you ahead of 80% of players who still don't know how the dynamics or gameplay work, which is why I make tutorials explaining how these cards work, as it is one of the most important foundations for mastering Splinterlands, referring to the game itself.

So, without further ado, let's explain everything about this new card:

Portia NYR (Tank Destroyer)

At first glance, "Portia NYR" appears to be a very standard "Legendary" card. However, it is not just any card, as its mechanics (the way it works), combining its stats and/or abilities, make it one of the most dangerous units for practically any type of combination. Of course, I'm not saying that all of them are successful, as there are exceptions, such as lineups that prioritize defense against "Magic" attacks.

But this is only the beginning, because I want to start by explaining the statistics and/or details that make this card a weapon to be reckoned with in this new "Escalation" set:

  • **The Splinter it belongs to: This card belongs to the most versatile splinter in the entire game, which is "Neutral," so you can play it and combine it with any other element.

  • Mana cost: It has 8 points, which are quite decent and permissive for a card of this caliber.

  • Attack: It has 4 magic attack points, which is absolutely brutal; it is very strong and can wipe out any tank in just a few rounds.

  • Life: It has 6 health points, which isn't bad, but it may make it a vulnerable target, which I understand, because with so much power and to balance it out, it can't have that many health points.

  • Speed: It has 3 speed points, which are perfect, as this is the average attack a good card should have in the game. The best thing is that this can be improved.

Note: All these statistics take into account the card's maximum level, since the idea is to analyze everything about the card, and at its maximum level I can analyze its potential and possibilities on the battlefield. In addition to this, its "Bloodline" is "Human," but in the next section, you will see what it is capable of and why I think it is very BROKEN and will undoubtedly be part of the current METAGAME.

⁣Analysis of your abilities (Portia NYR)

The abilities of this card are incredible, as they combine perfectly, allowing you to create very solid strategies around them. Of course, for all this to work out, I mean for us to have a combination with the highest chances of success, we must thoroughly understand the card and know what type of units we are going to combine it with, since it's not just a matter of placing it on the field and that's it.

That's why, when you explain your skills and what you can do, they will understand what kind of scenarios this card is designed for:

  • Shapeshift: The ability that allows it to be played and compatible with all bloodlines, in addition to being "Splinter Neutral," can be used in virtually all battle conditions.

  • Ápex Strike: This is one of the new abilities that will be added with the arrival of "Escalation." Its effect is quite good and unique, as it prioritizes attacking units with the highest attack points. Basically, it attacks the strongest cards on the opposing team and, as I said, it's practically a hunter.

  • Relentless Strike: This is a pretty good ability, as it grants a +1 attack bonus against cards with abilities such as Void, Shield, and Forcefield, counteracting mechanics that mitigate damage. As you can see, these are the most common abilities currently used in the METAGAME, not to mention that the damage it inflicts ignores armor.

  • Painforge: This ability gives it even more power, as its attack increases every time it receives damage from its own allies, such as poison, burns, and other such effects. Therefore, the damage this card can cause can be even greater than the 4 points it already has.

  • Immunity: To complete the perfect combination, this card has immunity to magical "Debuffs" caused by certain abilities, and I think even to weakening effects. So even if the damage caused by its allies wants to affect it, the immunity prevents it from actually receiving it, giving it power but no weakness.

Conclusion

All in all, Portia NYR is an extremely powerful card, capable of adapting to virtually any battle environment, no matter what the conditions. You can adapt it, of course, and as I mentioned, there are a few exceptions, but I don't think they are very relevant.

On the other hand, the combination with this card is very clear, since the idea is to include those ally damage cards to enhance "Painforge" and thus increase Portia's power, without forgetting "Defense" so as not to be exposed to attacks that could ruin the chance of winning the battle. If you have any questions about this, feel free to comment on this post.

With nothing further to add, until next time, "Splinterlords."
