Here are some “Proposals” for the Evolution of Splinterlands in 2026

Best regards Splinterlovers 💚

Over the years, Splinterlands has proven itself to be a leader in this type of TCG game. Of course, this isn’t your typical game like the ones you can find in the app store, since it’s built on blockchain technology, which means its assets have real intrinsic value, so you can earn real rewards while having fun. It also has a lot to offer, including a somewhat complex but very solid economic structure, which has shaped its present and future, as it has remained at the forefront of this genre for 8 years.

However, the game needs to continue evolving and growing, so we must inject a little more dynamism and avoid the static nature that can be found in the various game modes available to date, That’s why, in this post, I want to present some ideas and/or proposals—not with any intention of changing anything at the moment, but simply as ideas—with the goal of adding that dynamism and fun that would encourage widespread adoption among more casual players, who might well be tempted to invest money to improve their experience over time.

So, I’m not sure how many parts this post will take to cover all these ideas, but it’s a start. I’ll begin with the basics so you can follow along, and as I go along, I’ll introduce these proposals. So if you want to know what this is all about, stick around until the end:

Because the game sometimes feels “static”

The first thing I’ll do is address what I see as the problem of the game feeling static. Although the battles are fast-paced—which I really appreciate—and it’s truly great that a battle can end in a matter of seconds or minutes, there’s still a sense of repetitiveness, which stems from the following:

Problems

  • META’s quick resolution: In the top leagues, you’ll find elite players who dominate the game from every possible angle, so the combos they use can be figured out very quickly; from a certain perspective, there aren’t really any surprises, which makes these battles somewhat predictable.

  • Rewards in specific formats: Although the “Modern” format is ideal for beginners—since it has card editions that limit usability and, in a way, make it easy to understand the game, just as is the case in “Frontier”—other formats like “Wild,” while I consider it one of the best, feel like they require too much effort because earning worthwhile rewards requires a very large amount of SPS.

  • The Stagnation of Battle Rules: While many rules have been added over the years—which provide the dynamism I’ve been talking about—the structure of battle remains the same and is repetitive. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with that, but often we need that “something extra” for a while to break out of the automatic and static routine.

Some “Proposals” to Revitalize “Praetoria”

In this section, I'll share a couple of ideas about the proposals I have to liven up the game and make it a little more dynamic. Of course, it might take me two parts to finish this post, but I'm going to highlight at least two of the ideas I have in mind, so let's get started:

The Implementation of “Brackets” in the Modern Format

Something I really liked was the implementation of “Brackets” in Survival mode, which makes the game much more dynamic and, if you will, balanced, so that everyone can win based on their decks and abilities, but I’ll explain it more clearly:

  • How it works: Instead of having a single “Silver or Gold” league where everyone has the chance to play with cards of any level—which clearly presents many disadvantages, especially for users who don’t have large collections—brackets are created based on “Archon” levels, and the levels of the remaining cards are determined accordingly.

  • Problem It Solves: As I mentioned earlier, this prevents players with max-level cards from literally overwhelming those who are inferior in terms of gameplay skill and, of course, card levels. Therefore, within the context of the brackets, strategy and balance would reign supreme.

The "Bloodline Dominion" Mechanics Expansion

This is a really good idea, because the introduction of this mechanic lets us summon other cards regardless of whether they’re Element or Splinter—as long as they share the same bloodline, you can play them, and that’s great. Although, strictly speaking, this isn’t really a new idea, because I know they’re gradually adding more Archons with these characteristics. With that in mind, here’s what we have:

  • How it works: We must create more Archons from the existing SETS—in this case, “Escalation”—which are emerging through conflicts. Creating as many Archons as there are lineages will allow the strategies and the METAGAME to expand. However, it would be possible to create a super “Archon” by combining three lineages.

  • Problem It Solves: We already know the limitations of the Splinters—something that persisted for years—but now, with the lineages, this has been resolved by creating more dynamic strategies.

NOTE: However, you shouldn't overdo this, because it generally makes the game much more complex and less straightforward, which in a way turns off certain players—and that's not really what we're aiming for. That's why we need to keep this in check, but don't worry—I have more ideas in the works that I'll share in future posts.

Conclusion

This isn't the end of the ideas, but it's a start. I want to share a lot more so you can get an idea of what we could improve in Splinterlands to avoid falling into the monotony of a static game. So, if you liked this post or have any questions, feel free to leave a comment about it. I'll read them all.

I invite everyone to join Splinterlands, the best game based on chains of blocks, full of adventures, battles, and strategies where you will have fun and get rewards according to your league
