Greetings Splinterlovers đź’š

Splinterlands is full of amazing cards. The truth is, with so many sets and cards to choose from, deciding which one is the best is a difficult task—especially since practically all of them are incredibly useful in-game. However, I’ve narrowed down my search and narrowed my options to find six cards that I think are incredible and perform exceptionally well in the current metagame, which consists of two main sets and a brand-new mini-set.

That’s right, I’m talking about “Rebellion,” “Arcana Conclave,” and “Escalation.” However, since there’s currently a huge buzz around the cards from “Arcana Conclave” and “Escalation,” my research and selection of these cards focused solely on the latter two. Right now, they’re the ones in circulation, the ones everyone wants in the game, and the ones we’re all scrambling to build decks around, so this analysis isn’t like the others I’ve done—it’s much less detailed, easier to digest, and puts into perspective what everyone wants to know: What are those awesome cards we should all have in our deck?

However, in this post, I’m going to highlight these three cards and explain why they’re so great in a quicker, less dense analysis than the rest—but stay tuned, because the “Escalation” cards are coming up in another post. So, if you’re ready, get comfortable—we’re diving right in:

Arcane Conclave: The Masters of Control

It was really hard for me to choose here, since all these cards are great—the truth is, there isn't a single bad one; they're all very effective on the battlefield. but, choosing a few based on their abilities, I’ve settled on the following. I should clarify first, though, that these cards aren’t necessarily the most powerful—I simply liked their effects, and that’s why I’m including them. That said, they are strong, so let’s get to it:

Craniax the Quick (Legendary - Death)

  • Why is it one of the best? One of its best combinations is undoubtedly with “Final Rest,” which I find quite useful, as it prevents abilities like “Martyr,” “Redemption,” and even abilities that resurrect cards from triggering—which can be very helpful for our strategy, since our opponent might base their play on that.

  • Abilities and How It Works: One of its weaknesses is “Reckless,” and although it deals damage to our units every time an attack hits, it’s a price worth paying for such powerful ranged attack capabilities. Not to mention that at higher levels, it gains “Affliction,” which prevents enemies from healing, and “Backfire,” which damages the opponent’s attacker if their attack misses our card.

  • Best modifiers: In my opinion, this card really shines in "Close Range," since it can unleash its high attack power right from the start—a feature that’s definitely worth taking advantage of. On the other hand, "Aim True" is also excellent, as none of its attacks ever miss.

Hrolfa (Epic - Life/Water)

  • Why is it one of the best? It’s undoubtedly one of the best dual-element “Support” cards in “Arcane Conclave,” as it has two powerful abilities that provide excellent protection for allies and work exceptionally well in leagues where competition is fierce and you need to play more defensively.

  • Features and How It Works: This card combines “Protect,” which grants +2 shield points, with “Repair,” which restores the shield of the ally that has taken the most damage each round. It also adds a key offensive ability with “Pinpoint,” ensuring that attacks from our cards with abilities like “Sneak” never miss.

  • Best modifiers: For me, one of the best is undoubtedly “Armored Up,” since it boosts everyone’s shield on the field, effectively reinforcing the “Protect” ability and its support capabilities. On the other hand, “Fog of War” is very good, since its defensive aspect is essential for this type of rule set.

Nessa (Legendary - Life)

  • Why is it one of the best? It's one of those cards you absolutely must have in your deck, since its high magical offensive power can literally wipe out your opponents in the blink of an eye.

  • Features and How It Works: Basically, it’s her combination of abilities that makes her so deadly. On the one hand, with “True Strike,” her attacks never miss; on the other hand, with “Relentless Strike,” even if her attacks are weakened, she can still deal real damage. Finally, with “Execute,” if her opponent’s card has 2 or fewer life points remaining, she can attack again immediately.

  • Best modifiers: It’s deadly in modes like “Heavy Hitters” or the more basic “Standard,” since its offensive power allows it to wipe out entire hordes on its own.

Conclusion

These cards are impressive on their own; the truth is, having them in your deck is absolutely essential. Of course, we could provide a little more context, but I didn't want to make the post too long, and I also wanted to try a different format than the one I usually use.

So, after this brief but concise analysis, what did you think of these cards? Leave a comment on this post and let me know what you think of them. If you’ve already tried them, tell me about your experience.

With nothing further to add, until next time, "Splinterlords."
