Grass Raccoon Fan Art (poster paint)

The water supply in my area is back to normal, so I decided to do a Grass Raccoon fan art during my break time today. I usually take a couple of hours' break from work after lunch so our fur baby Max can come into my room. It's the dog days of summer in my country, and we don't want our fur baby getting a heat stroke.

Because of that, I usually take this chance to do my hobbies like painting, anime watching or gaming before I work again later in the afternoon.

Here's what I finished making just a few minutes ago.

Last time I created a male character, so this time I made a female version. The style I made is similar to the members of the Mink Tribe in One Piece. The original character for Grass Raccoon is so cute, so I made my fan art the cute type as well. :)

Now, let me share some of the progress shots.

Since I'm going to paint it, I used some poster paint on a 10 x 10 cm watercolor paper.

After prepping the watercolor paper with masking tape, I did a sketch using a 5H pencil and erased it lightly using a kneading eraser.

I then began coloring, starting from the facial features, then the skin. Initially, I wanted to color the skin brown, but I wanted to keep it similar to the reference, so I decided to use various shades of green.

I did the same for the hair. I just mixed in different colors to green, so it would have a variation. :)

I also added tiny yellow accents, but it's too small, so you can hardly see it. ^^

Finally, I colored her outfit. Since I'm doing some sort of layers, I used black, a mixture of yellow and black and of course, another shade of green.

As for the background, I just mixed in the remaining paint in my palette (different shades of green + lemon yellow). I also added a little scarlet red on her tongue and some white paint as highlights. She could really pass as a One Piece character from the Mink Tribe! haha

Lastly, I took out the masking tape around her and added my username, the date today and my signature. :) I actually like it, so it's automatically going to my art wall later! Here are some more shots of the fan art below. :)

I did it while listening to some soothing music for dogs, so Max stays asleep while I'm doing something. Otherwise, I won't be able to do anything. haha

So, what do you think? I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did making it. I'll create more in the coming days. Thanks for reading and checking this post out! See you around! (^^,)/

The fact that you listened to soothing music for Max while painting is just too sweetโ€”talk about multitasking! I bet Max loves being in your company while you work on your art. Keep up the amazing work, I canโ€™t wait to see more! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Thank you! :)
He behaves more or just takes a nap when I play some soothing music. ^^

Aww, that's so sweet! ๐Ÿ˜Š It's amazing how music can help them relax. It must be so nice to have him by your side while you work on your art. Keep enjoying those peaceful moments together! ๐Ÿพ๐ŸŽถ
